I know he's not practicing to spend more time studying but has he actually had his scholly removed?

I don't think so, but players don't usually come back from something like that.

Why is it whenever there's an article bashing UGA, it happens to be written by Chip towers. No wonder Kirby hates this schmuck.

If anything,Chip Towers goes out of his way to be positive about the program and CKS.
No doubt this is a legitimate story...what's Chip supposed to do?Sit on the story?

That he would evaluate the scholarship situation after the season was over

Don't know Rodrigo but his dad has been around the soccer community in the Cobb county area (where I grew up playing soccer for 12 years) for quite a while and isn't exactly beloved.

I don't blame CKS for not throwing a scholarship at Rodrigo on the spot as he's only been featured in a couple of games, really, so far. The first half of the season was a kicker battle and then a 4th-and-go-for-it. It's only been the past few weeks where Rodrigo has been trusted to kick, so I understand why CKS wants to see how the rest of the season plays out before giving him a scholly.

I like Rodrigo and feel like he's head and shoulders above where we started the season at that position, but kickers can be headcases and I would also want to make sure he's good for a few more games before giving him the free ride. CKS also said they are looking at recruiting other specialists, so I don't think he wants to settle too quickly without a really good sample size.

This is nothing more than a parent being a whiny baby. This is normal LOTS of places, and what richt did for damn near 15 years. Kickers and punters are rarely given scholarships out of HS unless they are the elite of America. Typically if you're good and earn your stripes, you get a scholly.

Plus, this is GA so assuming rod is using the practically limitless assistance given to athletes it seems like getting on HOPE wouldn't be much of a challenge.

You can be 3 Deep at every position and it's only 66 scholarships.

3 QB's
4 RB's
3 TE's
3 LT's
3 RT's
3 C's
3 RG's
3 LG's
8 WR's

33 Scholarships on Offense

6 DT's
5 DE's
6 MLB's
6 OLB's
10 DB's

33 Scholarships on Defense

You get 85.

Why can't a kicker get one?
