Those are old. They don't have the new # font or collar and they have the old SEC logo.

Hopefully it shows Kirby is into the black though!

I would love to see the black jerseys again at least just to shake off the superstition that some fans have about them. But Kirby seems more of a traditional type coach especially from being under Saban.

Kirby is the reason the black jerseys lost their mojo back in 2008...

Now he's ready to restore their magic

Idk, Kirby brought a bulldog puppy to a recruit, flew the choppers, and has pulled out all of the stops. He knows the kids love the black jerseys. That's why he's letting them rock them for pictures I'd imagine.

I've wondered if he'll say that we won't mess around with that stuff but you get no bullshite coaches like Kelly, Dantonio etc who still have their teams wear alternates. Ohio State wore black this year. These coaches know what can come from it. Only schools that are absolutely hell bent on keeping tradition, such as PSU, USC, Texas and Bama, I think are exempt from it. And no one here should try and fool themselves into thinking that Georgia's uniform is iconic like those two.

It's interesting. You have McElwain, former Saban disciple, putting UF out in more alternates than any gator coach I remember. Muschamp reintroduced their orange jerseys but McElwain put them out there in orange several times, white helmets, etc. LSU wore alternates this year. Ohio State the black jerseys. Michigan State had alternates vs Oregon and Ohio State. Oklahoma has 2 alternates they wear on the road and home. Tennessee obviously has their gray bullshite. FSU has alternates now.

Those are just notable examples. Pretty much every school has one now. Sure, we have the a bunch of patsies who worry about it being bad luck, fake juice, or vain because god forbid they indulge the players/fans who want to see something as daring as an alternate jersey. I bet you will see them again. Smart isn't Richt, we don't have to attribute the jerseys issues to Smart for Richt led teams' ineptitude.

The tired "we only wear red" crimudgeon response is so fricking tired at this point. Who gives a shite? It's a jersey. No one plays different because of a uniform.

I say if it attracts top talent to the school, bust out whatever color uniform you need to get the job done.

DGD writing pro-black jersey novels now. Classic...

I'm guessing Kirby could bring back the power ranger uniforms and it'd be celebrated at this stage we're in. . . .

ANyone else loving how the chronic Richt whiner/complainers have basically had their tongues cut out now that Richt is gone?

Chicken, If you're wondering why traffic has slowed, here's your answer.... Richt is gone, and so 90% of this board has nothing to say now. Over and over. ANd over.

Exciting Times.

As long as the black helmets do not resurface, i'll be good. Those away blacks we wore that year against Florida made me want to vomit.

Needs to be made an incentive thing somehow.

I believe the East is the away team in the SEC championship game this year though, so that incentive wouldn't work.

Tech game maybe? If we win the East?

Big time night SEC/rivalry games. Auburn, Tennessee, tech, etc.

Would be awesome to black out Bobby Dodd seeing as how it's a neutral site game anyway

I think there is some substantial turnaround time on getting unis made by Nike now that they have the NFL contract and college teams are 2nd on the totem pole to NFL and their merch.

Decision to make them would likely have to come before the season and with the cost it would be silly not to use them.

Or maybe it's because it's January. Just a hunch...

I like the idea of using them against Tech when we play in Bobby Dodds and Tech chooses to go white.

Against UF occasionally would be good. Senior night. Against UT since they think we're worth breaking out the grays for.

All are good options. It should be a part of the uni. And bring back the SILVER britches.

That, and anything resembling those Nike pro combats. (Actually, I think those silver helmets would be pretty sweet if they removed that humongous stripe.)
