Could it have been 2014 Georgia?

Gurley
Marshall
Sony
Chubb
JJ Green
Douglas
AJ Turman

All Purpose: McKenzie

Fullbacks:
Merrit Hall
Quayvon Hicks
Christian Payne

ETA... also had the starting center for the Patriots doing some favors up front... not a running back but credit is due.

Gurley, Sony, Chubb yes. Everyone else, bust/average/over hyped/practice field heros. Looking at it from actual production the depth isn't that great. Wouldn't even consider Sony an elite RB.

If we had bothered using Sony like we should have he'd have been a running and receiving dynamo. He's a poor man's Reggie bush. We bulked him up a little too much and didn't put him at slot receiver enough.

Well shite... if we are talking All Purpose backs, throw McKenzie on the list. He was here in 2014 too.

No, he's definitely bulked up since he got here.

That's been my opinion of Michel too. We saw glimpses of it in 2014 and early in 2015. He's a good between the tackles back but is flat out scary in space.

I remember when Michel was the primary backup for Gurley and Chubb was an afterthought. That didn't last long.

I would think so and considering our history of injuries, we obviously need lots of depth at RB every season.

IM has never at any time been classified as a RB. A WR that will take a jet sweep handoff every now and then doesn't classify as being a RB, not to mention that he takes those end arounds far more often now than he did as a freshman.

Turman, Green, and Douglas have no business being listed for the sake of this exercise either.

2014 is hard to beat. If you look purely at talent and don't count Gurley's suspension or Chubbs injury and what that did to production - that could be the most talented RB class ever.

That's part of the issue. There is often a huge gap between our recruiting rankings and the team we actually put on the field for a variety of reasons. Out of the 3 players you listed, one was kicked off the team, two were badly injured and one of those two, Gurley, was suspending for 4 games for selling autographed memorabilia.
