As much as I would like him to play for UGA, if he were to come here and regret it...

You know teenagers. They put everything off thinking it will work itself out. Then when it is time to make a decision.....freeze. Hopefully he has taken a step back and is taking his time to make sure......actually giving it a lot of thought.

I know that you're right, but still - pretty much every other teenage made a decision when they said they would.

I will say that this is almost 100% on UCLA for witholding the information about their DC. The fact that he is still considering them is absurd.

Remember...you had one flip a coin...one committed because the school had good looking asian girls...2-3 more signed and then waited to fax in their letters because they were not sure....it happens. Some will regret their decisions.

Certainly they should have told the kids. I think at one point the DC even said he had not made up his mind and might not leave UCLA then took the job today. In other words...he knew. This is what happens when we, the fans...make football a billion dollar business. We pay coaches millions of dollars to be successful and that means they will do whatever is necessary to protect that income stream. It really shouldn't shock us that some coaches will be dishonest.

He might not still be considering them. In his mind he may have eliminated them but just doesn't want to say it. He probably is torn because he made a commitment to the, and doesn't really want to feel like he lied to them. I realize it was UCLA that did the lying, but we are talking about a teenage mind.

Certainly we don't want him to regret coming here...but any kid that commits to any team could come to regret their decision. It happens. I would imagine Alvin Kamura regrets going to Alabama. We all have regretted decisions we have made. That's life.

It seems likely that there are some personal factors here that play a big part in Smith's decision. No point in speculating about what they might be, but he doesn't just want to leave the state, he wants to go far from the state. I'd say it's best for all concerned that he make his own decision without being pushed.

That's a fair assumption...but still an assumption. I won't try to get inside a teenagers head. that's a scary place to be.

Maybe. but let's face it...California is an intriguing place, particularly for a teenager. It's glamorized in music, television and movies....almost a mythical place. It never rains and there are 27 good looking blonds for every male.

Agree 100%.

And then after all this....watch the guy wind up being nothing more than a solid contributor at the college level...

That seems to happen a lot.

The fact that he hasn't committed to UGA given how UCLA jacked him around tells me he's going to UCLA. Folks buy on emotion and rationalize their decision with logic. Roquan is looking for a good reason to go to UCLA....he'll eventually find one.
