I want Kirby treating the guys on the team like worthless animals with bad credit from now until we hoist that trophy in Houston.

True...however, they never have us picked as the favorite like this vs. ANY Bama team

Not even close, usually its split evenly re: spread and straight up

Jase McClellan Misses Second Practice Leading Up to SEC Championship

Hearing he is out for the game and still in a boot out of my Bama fan contact

The scenario is almost the exact same as 2021.

And I think Kirby is reminding them of that.

Kirby also knows he has the better team. I expect a focused and well executed gameplan.

I think it is like the 2017 SECG vs Auburn

They've still got 3 RBs who are more than capable.

Huge drop off after McClellan

Haynes only has line 130 yards on the season

Roydell would be the starter but he isn’t built to take the load

I’ve got a couple of buddies in Tuscaloosa who say Jam Miller is the best RB on the team. If McClellan is out Miller moves to 2 on the depth chart. We’ll see.

Milroe running wild gives me nightmares. I feel like the “better team gap” was larger in 2021 when we got boat raced. Their D scares me.

On the other hand….I feel like we’re due for an epic beatdown of Bama. At some point karma has to even out.

Larry Munson and Dooley would not be so confident.

there are some similarities to be sure.

I've mentioned this dozens of times and nobody either believes me or cares enough to pay attention...but for whatever the frick reason that I'll never understand we played an entirely different defense in that game than the other 14 that year. All anyone wants to talk about it metchie getting hurt, and sure that played somewhat of a factor (not enough to blame the loss on, but a small factor). But it's like people completely ignore the retarded game plan we had. We played a lot more loose zone than man, and we focused on containing bryce in the pocket and making him throw rather than getting after him. There were numerous times, and not late in the game where fatigue could be to blame, where at the snap JOrdan Davis and the rest of our DL just kind stood straight up and hung out. The ONLY thing I cna think of, is that kirby outsmarted himself and ended up in prep meetings looking like charlie day trying to find pepe silvia. I think kirby thought "ok. Their staff is elite and they have a full season of film on our defense. They aren't just going to keep doing what they always do, so to attack our defense they're likely going to do [ABC]. So if they switch things up and do ABC....that means to counteract that we'll have to do [XYZ]!" Only problem is, bama didn't do anything different than normal and we looked fricking stupid. When we met again in Indy we played a lot more man and we unleashed our front 7 on them all day and we completely dominated their offense.

Unless kirby has another epically stupid brain meltdown, I like our chances in this one. Not to mention that milroe is obviously no bryce.

I sure hope we plan on bringing pressure, rather consistently, on Saturday. The Bama OL, and Milroe, are susceptible to sacks and bad throws under pressure. There's a ton of tape for Kirby and staff to consume to see this is the case. Milroe's only qb skill, outside of being a rb, is his deep ball, which requires time. He's awful on intermediate throws...even when they're completed, he's not leading his receivers and therefore limiting YAC.

Perfect scenario for a "bend but don't break" approach driven in large part by QB pressures forcing Milroe to get the ball out of his hands quickly.

If we sit back in zone, rush four, and let the dude scramble around while our DBs try to keep track of all his receivers down the field, we're likely to get burnt and burnt often.

I mean I guess he could be good, but he only has 167 yards on the season and 0 TD's and the only game he really played was in mop up duty against Chattanooga where he put up 77 yards

And we weren't ready for it....my most vivid and haunting memory of that game is us triple covering the post route and leaving the out & up uncovered. Result....long TD

I always wondered if Dan Lanning outsmarted himself in that game backing off that pressure on Bryce

Man, it was weird to see our D line back off the pressure on the snap

I think a lot of folks are going to be surprised by what Bobo pulls out of the bag this game.

There are a lot of players who can make plays on this team, and I think we've only scratched the surface of how these guys can look.

This one could look a lot like the 21 SEC championship with Georgia as the explosive offense and Bama having to overcome a couple of QB mistakes.
