Cartersville is also a better team than Harrison. Still, it's not like Lawrence was demoted to a 4 star. He's literally just one spot below Fields in the overall rankings and it's largely because he can't do something that Fields can: run and run with authority.

Lawrence is going to be just fine for Clemson at the next level but Fields has a dimension to his game that makes him a notch better

Lawrence just made a play on a role out under pressure that says other wise. Dam that throw.

Have you not seen Fields throw? Arm strength, accuracy, and poise aren't problems that either Lawrence or Fields have. Again, it just so happens that Fields can do something Lawrence can't and that makes him slightly better

Lawrence is no slouch in the run game. He is mobile as well

Cmon. Lawrence isn't a dual threat QB the way Fields is and suggesting otherwise is being purposefully disingenuous.

He's not even close to the same level as a runner as Fields is. He's also a bean pole, whereas Fields is over 220 pounds and strongly built like a running back. Lawrence is a great QB. I'd rather have Fields.

No way is Fields a better QB

Cool. We're still gonna sign him if that's ok with you though?

That's not the Bulldog Bob from Rivals but Radi did confirm that Fields was in Athens last night with his family. Had dinner with Kirby at the 5 Bar.

ETA: Radi clarified that he was only able to confirm his parents being there, but other sources say Justin was in town as well.

Out of curiosity, anyone know how that's possible, as August is a quiet period in theory?

Scratch that, I see Durds answered on the SEC recruiting thread about TL... something about an exemption for early visitation due to early signing period change this year. Will look into it later unless someone has a link handy already.

The difference between the two is probably only marginal...like one is a 99.9 the other a 99.8. The other 21 starters and then guys off the bench will be the difference between the two.

FWIW that's based on what someone else has said about why it's permissible. If anyone does have a link addressing it I'd be interested to see as well

If you applied for a waiver then the dead period ended on August 24th and you could have guys on campus, per Radi both Bama and UGA took advantage of this (As I'm sure many others did as well). Fields was definitely in Athens this weekend, and it sounds like LeCounte is still one of the best recruiters we have.

LINK
"Dead Period Blanket Waiver"

Due to some teams having games scheduled to take place in the month of August, schools pushed back in search of a waiver on the rule, so visits could take place, and the NCAA had little choice but to grant the blanket waiver, ultimately ending the dead period a week early on August 24

Is this on radi's twitter? I'm not doubting you, just trying to get a better understanding.
