How would y'all put up our chances to finish with Demetris Robinson? There was a Georgia guy on the SEC Recruiting board that said he has friends that know his family and he wants to go out of state. I get the same feeling from Demetris that I got from Kyle Davis and Derrick Brown. It seems like he's looking for reasons to not go to Georgia.

Who is saying we didn't make the right choice? What in the world are you talking about?

Would love to see us finish with a top 5 class next year. I'll try and update the board tomorrow.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if we did. We have some good momentum going right now.

I don't know. he could have gone to Alabama today, if he had wanted to. I think if he can get into Stanford, then he will go there. Great school. Excellent football program. If he doesn't go there, I think we have a legitimate shot. He likes Smart, I think.

My gut says he goes elsewhere. I think that that he is waiting on his scores and if Stanford is out, he goes to South Bend. I think he wants a prestige diploma on top of good football. I love UGA, I have a Georgia diploma on my wall, but it is not Notre Dame and certainly isn't Stanford.

Right but if you listen to this kid in interviews. You get the sense that there is no way he could do well at an academic program like Stanford or Notre Dame. But like I said I get the feeling that he really wanted Stanford and didn't have much of a fallback and also has had many opportunities to bring his family with him to UGA and has chosen not to do so. I'll be pleasantly surprised if we get him but I'm leaning towards no.

I have no idea about how he would do arty one of those institutions, but I agree that we should be expecting him to go elsewhere.

You got it backwards. Its his family who wont take him to UGA. The brother doesnt like UGA.

True. I just want these high school guys from Georgia to want to bring a National Championship to the state. Anyone can go to Bama and win a title... they aren't building anything there, just renovating it. We are trying to build something special with all the talent in this state. I know I'm biased but it just seems crazy to not want to be part of bringing the Natty back home to our state that has more talent than almost anyone else. Sorry for the sentiment. It's been a long NSD.

Looks like you are way off on the 27 - 30.

We will have only 10 seniors next year, including Reggie Carter, who could ask for a medical redshirt.

Add one for Grayson.

We will, however, have only 78 to 79 on scholarship by the time August rolls around (we have 58 coming back and 20 to 21 coming in, and that opens up about 6 or 7 spots plus 11.

Even with some attrition, we are a lot more likely to have 20 to 21 spots to fill against the cap of 85 than 27 - 39.

Might lose some to the draft as well.

No wonder Kirby wanted to save some spots for the class.

This isn't accounting for guys that just don't make it. We've only had a couple of losses thus far, but once practices start, guys go through a full season, there is a chance that guys decide it's not for them. "It's a process"... Suffice it to say, if there are 27-30 guys that Kirby wants, my guess is he finds a way. He's learned from the master.

What do you mean by this? Am I reading this right, He doesn't have the intellect to do well at Stanford, because how he speaks in interviews?

I was saying that he does not sound like the most educated of individuals. Not bashing him as a person but just from the sound of things I would not expect him to excel academically at those prestigious institutions.

Just went back a read thru some the first pages of this thread. It's crazy how much changed in just a year.. We had no shot at big Julian, Sale was going to be a great OL coach and recruiter for us, DB and Trent were gonna be the unstoppable duo on the DL, EJ Price mastered his troll game early on..

Maybe my comment came off that way, my apologies. My comment was a general statement, not necessarily angled at any particular year. Richt always had trouble making a splash on NSD. Sure we have Crow, Ray Drew and a few others. But UGA fans, not necessarily on this site, tend to remember the ones we lost (Da’Rick, Mont Adams, Kamara, Tunsil, etc....).

Interesting. Thanks for the correction, I counted 14 seniors (not sure how).

I suppose we’ll see some attrition, but this tells me we have a very young roster. It’ll be interesting to see how Kirby manages those numbers. I expect 5-6 of those projected 21 in ’17 to be O-line.

Not a problem. My own sensitivities probably made me take your comments wrong.

And this is just my opinion, but, I think the reason for that is because most of the recruits were already locked up, so there was very little drama. The way I took your comment was that we had people locked up and they went elsewhere. And, I did not mean to say you were wrong...simply that I didn't remember that happening. (I really didn't follow recruiting until the last 2-3 years, though, so I knew you very well could be right) I just wanted names, since I didn't remember.

Tunsil is a legitimate point. We had him and lost him at the last minute. We were in it for Kamara, but he was never totally sold on us. (And if we were taking only two, I'm glad we got the two we ended up with) I don't remember about Adams or Da'Rick, though. As I said...I was not necessarily saying you didn't know what you are talking about...just that I was unaware and wanted backup to what you were saying. We have a lot of people that have revisionist history problems, sometimes! And I should apologize, too. My wife tells me I come off as mad sometimes. I think that is made worse with typing a message. It's hard to tell the tone of a persons typed message.
