I don't know. Given what Perno left him with I'm inclined to give him a pass. Needs to have a winning season this year to keep me enthused, though. I think this team has what it takes to at least win some games if they can stay healthy

Seems like a similar situation with our basketball program. Mid-Major/Cheap hire = good enough but not that good... Slightly above shitty...

Eh. Fox was never a recruiter, had no ties to the South, and we knew it when we hired him. Stricklin (while very similair) at least has been able to recruit somewhat and has a lot of ties to GA baseball from his time with Ga Tech.

Mid-Major/Cheap hire

Is there any way for an AD to make a hire that isn't criticized?
Mid Major = cheap hire
Coordinator = unproven as a head coach
Previous HC = couldn't hack it

As to current head coaches, if they're doing well, why would they go to a program that isn't? If they're not doing well, why would we want them?

Too much complaining done about coaching hires. Evaluate them independently, rather than trying to bucket them.

I have a lot of confidence in this team so far and this game doesn't change that for me. That pitcher was lights out tonight. I mean we couldn't even get to a 3-2 count on the guy. And I don't believe it's our bats' fault because they held their own against southern's staff, and brought us back against mercer. Wayyy to early for pessimism. Especially for baseball.

My only big concern from today is that Tyler was again not efficient at all. Being an ace is more than just a lot of Ks, you've got to eat innings too.

They are a scrappy bunch i know that much, i dont think tyler is the problem at all the kid is fantastic and is lights out. If im not mistaken he pitched 5 innings last Friday. We Need more bats imo, someone mentioned on here the only threat we have is McGovern and Nichols but some can step up like they did at Mercer, again your right to early for pessimisim

Lsu swept Cincinnati last weekend by a wide margin. Hopefully we can do the same today

Tyler isn't an issue; they're purposely limiting him to 5 innings since he is coming back from injury. Out 2 losses so far have been either in extra innings to a solid squad or to one of the best pitchers in the country that is now riding a 12 game win streak after being an all American last year. Only thing that is going to derail UGA are injuries or if the fans quit on them. Young team, need support

Webber and King are in slumps and Wrenn has only been back for 2 games. Logan moody was killing it the first 4 games and Curry and Sullivan have been respectable at the plate

Out of the 3 pitchers we faced every single one of them was a all American were they not?

Oh wow, didn't think about him coming back from injury. That make a lot more sense.

I don't think so? We've faced an all American batter on Mercer's squad but Hill was the only all American pitcher we have faced
