Gonna be a repeat of last Saturday. Their pitcher is an all American and damn near unhittable. Tyler is going to have to cut the shite and keep us alive until the later innings
Posted on 2/26/16 at 4:28 pm to tylerdurden24
Despite the run Tyler is bringing it again 5Ks in two innings of work

Seriously need to drive this guys pitch count up. We can't do dick against him, just bide our time

7Ks now for tyler after 3. These two guys are putting on pitching clinics

USA pitcher has retired all 9 batters he has faced, perfect game so far. Nichols and Webb made solid contact but outfielders were in perfect position

Game sounds bad on radio... Still 1-0 USA... Another solid performance by Tyler thus far.

Both pitchers combined to retire 15 in a row... Holy shite

LJ Talley breaks the perfect game with a hit, his first of the season. We may very well lose this thing 1-0

Suicide bunt... now 2-0 USA

McGovern with a solo bomb to right center! 2-1 USA in the 7th
Posted on 2/26/16 at 5:53 pm to Kneehigh
2-1 Keegan puts the Dawgs on the board

Curry with a hit! 2 outs but dawgs starting to chip away. Hill approaching 80 pitches for south Alabama

9th inning and Vaughn and Shane Tucker have loaded the bases with nobody out. Tucker has thrown 5 balls and no strikes

Dawgs fall 3-1 to USA... You really can't say much. Hill from USA just pitched the greatest game as an opposing pitcher at Foley. Damn fine performance...

except...where the hell has the offense been under our new head coach the last couple years...
It was some good pitching, on both sides, but our bats just never seem to be there on a consistent basis

We were fortunate to do what we did tonight. That was as good an opposing pitcher as I've ever seen.
McGovern and Nichols are consistent deep threats. Webber is struggling, but usually he, King, and Wrenn can be counted on to reach. Otherwise we're just playing a lot of freshmen. Strickland doesn't like going after JUCO guys because it means that you have to keep going after them every two years. Seen some good stuff out of the freshmen so far but they're only 5 games old at this point and they just faced a kind of pitcher they don't have any real way to prepare for.
