I understand your reasoning for wanting Cajun. I just don't appreciate you talking down about TexMex because you like Mexican better.

Lol. Lighten up Francis! We just have better Mexican Food in South Texas than Houston does. And what you call "Tex-Mex" and what I call Mexican Food are probably one in the same.

Not really. The term "Tex-Mex" was coined by yankee food critics and wasn't widely used until the last few decades.

Just make sure you get an extra scoop of sour cream and go easy on the peppers so you can enjoy your "Tex-Mex."

You used the wrong word. You already admitted it. Just take it easy and go to town using your quotation marks.

No, I didn't. However, what you did admit is your ignorance when you said Houston is known for its Mexican Food, err "Tex-Mex.". Wrong. San Antonio, yes, and any small town in South Texas, yes. Just by calling it "Tex-Mex" you proved that you are either a) a Yankee, or b) a Gringo that doesn't know what's what, likely both. The reality is that everyone in South Texas calls the food they invented a over the past centuries Mexican Food. Only yuppies, yankees, and gringos that don't know better call it "Tex-Mex."

And yes, there actually is a big arse fricking difference between Mexican Food and the chef inspired inferior imitation known as "Tex-Mex.". Anyone that knows the difference knows it when they see it. However, you don't.

Exactly. I had sushi made by Morimoto (sp?) in New York one time. That's the gold standard for me. $9.99 buffet sushi is just bait.
