Why was UT interested in finding a new home?
Why was Texas A&M so upset?
Why did Oklahoma issue a threat?
Did Texas ultimately make the right call?

oh this is going to be a fricking treat

Seriously, posting anything on this board about Chimp, er Chump should be a bankable offense. This guy makes Clay travis look like Nostadamus.

That guy is the worlds worst sports reporter. One day sports biz miss's husband is going to catch up to him and beat the crap out of him for stealing her scoop and lying about it

Not going to listen, but will take a crack at his answers:

quote:

Why was UT interested in finding a new home?

Why wouldn't the best university/football team in the world check out its options?

quote:

Why was Texas A&M so upset?

Because they realized how inferior they are to UT.

quote:

Why did Oklahoma issue a threat?

Because they're worthless without us.

quote:

Did Texas ultimately make the right call?

The Big 12 is much stronger without aggy and we're in the national title hunt this year, so, obviously.

the two guys running the podcast are giving chip verbal felatio about how on top of things he was and how he correctly predicted all of conference realignment

chip said texas didnt go to the then pac 10 because a&m was waiting to see what they did and they (texas) did not want to be the ones who made the first move and they did not want the legacy of being the ones who destroyed the big 12

if you ask the fans, they would wish that texas would have left the big 12 but if you ask the athletic department, they are happy with how things have ended up with all of the money they are making from the LHN

and thats where i am, they are currently talking about the other big 12 schools who were being left out of the proposed pac 16 like baylor and iowa state

the LHN was more about ESPN keeping the media rights to texas as it was having a new piece of programming considering all of the success the texas athletic program had in the 2000s

mack brown was convinced they were going to beat alabama and when they lost, he never got over it. he took it out on the coaches and the players and thats what led to the program falling apart. all of the money they were making led to complacency

I love that Dodds knew it was time to make changes, but didn't want to step on the toes of the new AD being hired.
