And then it came out Sumlin lied to cover his arse, Allen WAS playing injured and his shitty play against Bama and OM was the result of him playing hurt so Sumlin could hide Kyler's suspension.
I was operating at the time under the assumption our coach WASNT a complete piece of shite. My bad.

FWIW, I think your program is far better off with Kyler Murray out of it. Dude was never going to be an SEC-caliber QB. He may even succeed at OU bc we all know the Little XII doesn't play defense. But that rainbow throwing, blown over by a gust of wind, pretentious kid was never going to be good for y'all. I have rarely ever hated on a kid, but if half of the rumors about him and his old man are true, you guys are way better off. That, and he wasn't a talented qb.

And if we finish with only 7 or 8 wins on the season again after that start for the third year in a row, Sumlin better pack his bags.

Haha ok.
Just so everyone is on the same page, your previous character assessments and player evaluations were completely wrong and your current character assessments and player evaluations are now completely accurate. Is that right?

That's what it comes down to. Forget all the stuff about his attitude and his dad. While true, that's beside the point. He was too small and slightly built to succeed in this league without an insane cannon arm and excellent decision-making and offensive command to offset it, which he didn't have. He succeeded in HS because he was surrounded by players that were all better than their counterparts due to Allen HS having like 10,000 students per class and he was fast enough to escape contact. In the SEC, where the defenses are often superior to their counterparts on offense and the other guys are as fast or faster than he is, he didn't stand a chance at 5'5", 135, primarily running the ball. Unfortunately, we didn't get to just cut bait and move on in a vacuum. Instead, he made a public display of leaving, and it became a giant fiasco that hurt our recruiting.

Kyler was much more like Joffrey. A spoiled brat, completely toxic, and oblivious to everything but his own desires.

Ah, I see its that time of year where everything is clear as to why we fell flat last year and we all know the problem is fixed.

Ah, I see its that time of year where RK is compounding delusion upon delusion.

I mean this is correct. I feel like all the big weak links talked about in the staff over the past few years have been culled. There's only one more place for the finger to point if there isn't success next year.
But yes I do get where you're coming from.

Is this thread where you give me another sig quote? That would be great, because the original is da bomb.

This is why everyone is pushing out stories about Sumlin on the "hot seat". They don't want A&M to get it right. The recent commitment from the building of the athletic facilities to the snagging of "elite" coaches from top notch programs like LSU and UCLA has them freaking out. Brick Haley from the Sips would have been the icing on the cake, but his son's condition kept Haley in Austin.

Applewhite kinda destroyed the credibility of the article.

Agree that he's overrated. If he was any good, he would have accomplished a little bit more after a decade as OC. But he'll benefit nicely from working under Herman.
The rest of the list looks pretty good. Maybe TCU should be on there?

Multiple times from multiple perspectives we heard that it was Kyle Allen who told the staff he was ready to go. Allen even discussed this during the pre-LSU game footage starting at the 1 min mark. At the 2 min mark he says he sprained his AC during the Ole Miss game and not the Bama game, but he told staff he could continue.

I accidentally ran into Kyle Allen before the 2014 game at the team hotel. Poor body language and he was already distancing himself from teammates. Told my friends that moment that he would never be the leader A&M needed.
He was on his way out the minute Sumlin named Hill the starter and he started searching to transfer that year. The Kenny Hill drama delayed the decision because it opened the window for him to start. It appeared that Allen always put himself before the team.

Yeah it's definitely not because he's actually on the hot seat

Wow! I certainly hope you are being compensated immensely for your incredible gift of being able to totally size someone up after just a short, accidental meeting. Corporations should be screaming for your services!

To be fair, it was an open secret that Allen was looking into transferring his freshman year when Kenny was named starter. Chill isn't making that up.
