Yeah, I haven't stepped foot inside there in a couple years. Used to be my favorite charity.

TexAgs' outdated code and anonymous moderation are both really bizarre. Mods are more respected and do a better job when the avatar portion of their posts says "moderator" and the posters can establish a relationship with them. Allowing Jorts to moderate and contribute to their show destroys any credibility they may have still had as professionals. That guy is an ugly redneck jackass who is overly Aggie and reactionary in his defense of any little slight against the program or school - he's what people think of when they call us "Aggy."

I also feel like they intentionally encouraged the Football board to become crappy in order to force people to pay for Premium. I've been posting on TexAgs since 2002, so I say this with a lot of experience and perspective. There used to be a great deal of real, serious football discussion on that board. Now it is worthless. The mods banned and censored all the stuff they should have left alone (criticism of the staff, amateur recruiting sleuthing, inside info from anyone but Billy) and left alone all the stuff they should have banned and deleted (trolling, memes, pointless inside jokes). Now that board is nothing BUT memes, inside jokes, and trolling. It's worthless, but I think that's how the owners and Billy WANT it to be.

And yes, the Houston board used to be the best board on there and one of the best boards on the internet at large. It was laugh out loud funny. Sometimes I'd laugh until I had tears in my eyes - how often does that happen on forums? Sad that its now nothing but reviews of proctologists in Katy.

I've been a member on TexAgs since 2002 as well. I have slowly weaned myself from the idiocy of that website. Some of the banter I found amusing, but after a while, it became tired and predictable. The only boards I find to be useful anymore are the outdoor board and the health and fitness board.

After 12 years and some 7400 posts, I was not banned even once. Now I barely go over there at all.

I was never banned on TA, either, but like you, I just found online communities I liked better.

Glad to have ya aboard the Ark! Sorry about the holdup in getting you access.
