SA Mexican food laughs at "H-Town"
And all of Mexico laughs at our futile attempts to recreate real authentic Mexican food here in Texas. I haven't found a place that offers real enchiladas, sopes, seso, consomé, carnitas or even rajas.
We are all measuring Mexican food joint peens but haven't realized they're all micro penises compared to the real stuff.

It's like there's a wall between us and the real stuff...

Maybe they just don't know any better?
When I lived in Indiana, people would wait in line for some really God awful Mexican Food. It was so bad, that it made me even more homesick when I was taken there. Those people just didn't know any better. Maybe it's the same with Gringos?

If you care to venture out west to Katy, Uncle Julio's and El Jarrito are both good.

I mean I don't think its the best in Houston, but I eat there several times a year and always really enjoy it.
Locations in Pearland and especially La Porte are too convenient to pass up.

I hear ya. I also have an annual obligatory trip to Pappasitos. And it is about the same as Gringo's. All in good fun!

La Tapatia!
I figured I'd justify my opinion with a good steady local joint.
I was there Sunday. I was in withdrawal when they were closed for about 6 weeks because of the fire a few months ago.

All these people are trying to steer you wrong man.
Molinas used to be good
Lupe Tortillas used to be good then they franchised and it's an abomination.
Gringos was never good it's like a fancy ponchos with out flag raising.
Chuys is a decent franchise
Pappasittos probably the best franchise
Ninfas navigation not to bad
Guadalajara is pretty safe bet as well
Spanish flower open 24/6 is better then molina & lupe Tortillas. Why is gringos even on this list wtf people yall probably like casa ole too.
If you want Margs and good food Alma Latina on shepard. Just don't drink more than 2 and drive. Order the specialty Margs and you'd be happy and drunk. After youre done here you can roll down the street to cottonwood and keep drinking.
Sylvia's isn't bad the story kinda makes that place.

No joke, but I heard some not so pleasant things about the ownership of that small chain. I just stay away due to the rumor.
