If you don't mind getting a little upscale, hit up Caracol for their Sunday brunch

If you don't mind getting a little downscale, Poblana in Gulfton is the best damn food truck in the city

Ninfas, El Tiempo and Lupe Tortilla are my personal favorites. The actual entrees are better at Ninfas/El Tiempo but the chips/pico/tortillas at Lupe are orgasmic. More than once I made a meal out of just that in med school

Got invited by a friend to Cadillac Bar's brunch a while back. Was not happy when I found out it was like $20

Then I saw the spread...

I know it's terrifying, but finding the best Mexican food occasionally requires going to places where Mexicans live

There is a taco truck just north of downtown that used to have a worker sitting outside with a shotgun after the sun went down.

But great tacos though...

We would frick Chuy's happy hour up in college during the summer. Free chips and queso with beef and $3 or $4 margaritas.

Being in Corpus, our bad Mexican food is better than the best in Houston.

But we do enjoy Ninfas and Sylvia's when in Houston.

Yeah,but...Gringo's just isn't very good. And who thought that a name like "Gringo's" would scream Good Mexican Food? They should just call it El Nastio.

FWIW, the old Felix's in the Montrose was good, way back in the day.

Well I like it and the hundreds of people that wait well over an hour for a table for dinner on Thursday Friday and Saturday nights like it
