This time next year he will be fired.

Be honest, didn't most of you guys have A&M winning less than 8 games anyway?

But never imagined losing to the Mississippi schools

Figured it'd turn out like this. I'm fed up with Sumlin, but there's not a slam dunk replacement out there, either (IMO).

So, we'll tread water. And drown. Again

I don't think slam dunks ever exist. They rarely move elsewhere.

Give me Morris/ Gundy or give me death.

I probably said 8. That being said, this team should not have lost those Mississippi games and the run defense is atrocious. We have enough athletes on offense to make up for lapses in play calling, I just don't know when we will run four wr's of that quality out there again

I told y'all he'd be coaching 2017 as a lame duck.

I am not excited about it, but it is what it is.

I was around for the firing of RC, Fran, and Sherman, and this time I never got the vibe or heard the rumors I had shared with me in the past when we fired a coach. Given his buyout, which has to be paid in 60 days unlike other contracts, which are paid out over years, he hadn't done bad enough for there to be a will to fire him. Next year, after we completely tank, and the buyout goes down, he's gone.

What kills me is it's not the buyout going down. The total is the same no matter what, you're just either paying him to go away or paying him to burn down the program.

If Roger is right and there is buyout lowering dirt, I'd hope we're at least bluffing him with it and maybe he will voluntarily move on lol.

That's not true. If we pay him now,we also have to pay another coach. So it is more money to fire him.

You'll have to do the same next year

Fire him this year = 20 mil buyout for staff plus new coach and staff salaries for next year (9 million?) = 29 million

Fire him next year= pay staff their salaries for next season = 9.4 million total I believe + buyouts (10 million for Sumlin, no idea what the rest of the staff is) + new staff salary (9 million) = 28-29 million. It's just delayed and the amount due in 60 days is smaller

Lol you need to check that math. How do the staff buyouts go from 5 to 9.4 million next year?

Don't try and tell us paying 2 coaching staffs vs paying 1 is the same pricetag.

What?

If you're saying we have to fire him next year we have to pay two next year. We're just delaying it. The buyout difference is what basically he and the staff are owed this year, which they will collect when we keep them.
