TMC get the hell in here.

Season 2 starts tonight and we need to get this party started.

Season 1 was epic and I'm not sure how they will try to recapture that magic but I'm damn excited to see them try.

For anybody mad about this thread, watch the first fricking season and get back at me.

Not bad so far.

Vince Vaughn is better than I thought he'd be.

Slow arse plot development great character development .....On par with TD that I expected

I just don't understand what the F is going on or who the bad guy is. I think that cop with the burns is sketchy as frick and might be up to some bad stuff out on that bike.

Think they want it that way. Every character seems to have a dark side which I dig. Too many shows have good guys and bad guys with no in between. TD has done a good job of making the characters human (and all shady as frick)

The dude that got the bj from the actress and got canned? I can't figure out why he's even there other than to get a CHiPs quota. I have to say, some of the camera shots made me think of CHiPs too. I'm hoping for an Eric Estrada cameo at some point in the series

And I'm trying to find that song - "This is my least favorite life." I can't even find it on youtube which is shocking

Lera Lynn’s “This Is My Least Favorite Life"

I think it was written for the show. Not available online currently.

Honestly season one I watched the first 3-4 episodes at once to catch up and it was probably 3 or so in before I realized how mind blowingly good it was.

The first few episodes were just you figuring out what the hell was going on. This seems on a similar path. I'm okay with it. It has a lot of promise for sure.

Colin Farrell and the bottle of bushmills made me think of dad, it being father's day and all. Don't get between an irishman and his whiskey, especially free whiskey, even if it's protestant swill

I think that's because the writers for TD envision characters, and basically write a whole history for them. And then come up with a basic situation faced by many detectives, with a twist - there is something horribly fricked up going on by people in power that 99% of police would probably never discover. The detectives past, whatever it may be, must relate in some way to that horribly fricked up thing and essentially drive them to find the culprit. Or something like that.

Once you establish the characters, which is extremely difficult, the plot essentially reveals itself.

Loved that first episode, I can tell Farrell is going to steal the show similar to how McConaughey did

It was a decent enough first episode I suppose. Its main mission obviously was to introduce characters, and it did just that.

My main complaint is that the incredible mood and texture the first seasons director, Fukunaga, created is regretfully absent. Justin Lin is no Cary Fukunaga, so visually, as I feared, this season will take a hit.

As for the story itself, the last five minutes were definitely the best and I'm intrigued moving forward. It's unfair to judge this season against the previous, but it will be damned hard not to do so.

Outside of Game Of Thrones, you don't see many shows kill a main character. Especially two episodes into the season.

That's why I don't think he is dead. Not sure how to explain that though.

yeah, he can't be dead...can he? This show continues to be a mystery and given the characters are only the season, I guess they could kill him off. And it was a real flash but was that a pigman that killed him? Some weird as frick shite is going down

There wasn't any blood in the kill shot. Either he was wearing a vest or the shotgun was loaded with non-lethal shells

That's my only hope

Well that was the best episode so far.

CF somehow survived a point blank rubber bullet. Not sure how realistic that is but the show probably would have suffered if he was actually dead.

Vince Vaughn was much better in this one, not that he was bad in the last 2.

Still not sure where we are going with all this shite. Not surprised though, I still don't know where Carcosa is.
