100 year decision

I've been arguing for several years now that Texas A&M's decision to join the SEC represented a seismic change in the landscape of Texas college football. In particular, A&M recognized something important -- in today's college football universe, who you ally yourself with in a conference is as important as your program's history. You're only as good as the teams you play against.

Well, less than four years after the Aggies announced they were joining the SEC, it's clear Texas administrators and fans were wrong. A recent fan survey, published in Nielsen's The Year in Sports Media Report: 2014, provided strong evidence that A&M's decision to brand itself alongside the SEC is paying off in a big way. A&M's brand has never been stronger, and the Aggies -- in conjunction with the SEC -- are rolling up huge amounts of Lone Star fan support.
According to Nielsen, in the past five years Texas A&M's fan base has increased by 26 percent in Houston, while Texas's fan base has dropped 30 percent. Texas A&M fans now make up 24 percent of Houston while Texas fans represent 18 percent. A small sliver of east Texas? That's a major metropolitan area that has turned maroon. And it's not just Houston either. According to the same Nielsen study, a similar trend has also played itself out in Dallas-Fort Worth, where the Texas A&M fan base has grown by 24 percent while the Texas fan base has dropped by 31 percent.

If only there was a board where all things that only A&M fans care about, could be posted…if only.

I thought there was no such thing as bandwagon Aggies?

Well I felt it was appropriate in particular since it's discussing how the SEC has benefited the program.

Congrats for Clay Travis jumping on your bandwagon.

The wrong board Nazis are very selective as to when they complain. There's a thread about Mullins, a thread about bats at Kyle Field, a thread about Freeze, a thread about UGA football post 1982, and many others. Best to ignore them.
Edit: They actually deleted the thread about Murray tweeting that he is not going to opt for MLB. Amazing. The LSU flavor of this board really sucks rocks sometimes.

So a few hundred homes have watched A&M more then Texas the past couple of years. Earth shattering news.
Now post the numbers in Dallas and other large cities in Texas.
LSU has a good number of alumni that live in Houston so you know they are watching other SEC games as well.

You post a bunch of bullshite, and then this little piece of actual data:
Setting aside for the moment that your title says "MarketS", and yet you only list one market, the glaring omission is who the other 58% of college football fans in Houston are...

They didn't just lock it - they deleted it, apparently. That's just crazy.

A&M probably has more sidewalks than any SEC school not named Alabama. Aggies will deny it till their last breath though.
