It sucks, but hopefully, we can spin it for future recruits like the Sips do when they have a 1 and done.

You mean the Iowa State that we beat by 11 in Reed?

Uptempo, heavy 3s, suspect defense.

I get the comparison

the iowa state that was the best offensive team in the country, but only went 7 deep and wore out as the season went on.

UCLA just scored 97 points in rupp. That's the most points cal has ever given up at kentucky....we gave up 74. Yes, it's only one game but you really have to look positively at our game last week

UCLA is 9-0
USC is 8-0
VT is 6-1 (loss being to us)

It appears our early schedule is even stronger than we thought

Frustratingly close to an incredible resume at this point. It's still very solid, but can't help but wonder if JJ would have been the difference. Alex Robinson almost certainly would have. He is averaging 12ppg, 5 assists, 2.8 steals, and currently shooting 43% from 3.

definitely so. We have all year to sort out a rotation so long as we make the tournament. But I'm still somewhat concerned about making it simply because our opportunities for good wins are so far and few between and we missed 2 potentially huge wins already.

But maybe I'm selling them short. There is some suggestion that this team may be better than we thought. Even with our guard situation, could it be a real contender for the SEC again?

I'd say it's highly unlikely. Kentucky likely will run away with the title, but if they don't, we have road games vs Florida and USC (the 2 other top 4 teams) with no return home game. They both have to play Kentucky twice, so maybe all 3 teams beat each other up, but I don't see it working out in our favor.

I still hold that we win at least 21 (maybe 23) games in the regular season.

to follow up,

UCLA is now ranked #2, USC is 27th, VT is 31st

also, all three are top 40 in kenpom

really looking like an ok early OOC slate
