Our goal should be appearing in a conference championship game not a NC. A NC goal isn’t realistic if we can’t even do that. Yes we have resources, but resources mean nothing if we can’t build a culture of winning. Since our last conference championship, 6 SEC schools have won a NC, and 11 have played for a conference championship. So until we play for a conference championship, we’re on the same level as Kentucky, Miss. State, and Vandy.

I've seen Colorado already get two o-lineman coming in via the portal. Hopefully we aren't asleep at the wheel once again on this, too much talent leaving that will need to be replaced.

What’s interesting is I foresee it being easier to win a NC than a conference championship going forward. We could possibly get hot at the right time and win 3 games in playoffs against ooc opponents easier than going without a loss and being top 2 in conference.

He’s never had more than 550 or so yards in a season. Perhaps he pops in a different offense but I’m guessing this is more of a depth and special teams guy. We are supposedly in a pretty good spot for Maclin (UNT) and Lacy (S Alabama) who have been really productive at smaller schools

We have a ton of open scholarships. If he is good on special teams and solid depth at WR then it makes a ton on sense.

Everyone has panicked way too early on this stuff, over half the guys in the portal will probably stay and Elko is going to sign a good class along with bringing in good solid players through the portal

Not a fan of the 2025 QB offer. I’m not sure Klein realizes he doesn’t have to bargain basement shop anymore. The talent on this team is deteriorating fast. We will see what the 2025 class looks like but some of these offers are interesting …

If you haven’t seen it and you have access. There’s a great thread on TexAgs premium called “transfer portal map”. The guy has created a map of the country and used arrows indicate actual portal activity in and out.

Sounds like our collective is playing hardball with NIL contracts and players are realizing they aren’t quite as free to transfer as they thought. Strong chance Nolen, Diggs and Bisontis come back.

It’s not hardball, it’s reality if if you lose the School, you lose the NIL money that came with that school
So you better have a higher offer out there if you’re all about the money. And with the 12 team playoff coming, there are lots of guys wanting to jump Shipp from mid-level programs to grab someone’s spot in a top 25 program.

In my overall point previously still stands, people need to stop freaking out, we have a huge program, and the best conference, with a very best facilities in that conference. We have plenty of money to throw around.
Elko will have plenty of talent to build off of. It will not be an issue and people need to chill out.

This, I bet once all the dust settles from the coaching change, transfer portal, and signing day, A&M will head into next season with a composite top 15 roster, maybe even closer to 10. Yes we are losing some talent and depth to the portal & NFL, but Elko isnt walking into a bare cupboard.
Lets develop talent, scheme well, play tough, and the rest will start to fall into place. Wins and recruiting again. If it doesnt happen in 3-4 years.... well, rinse and repeat until we find the right guy.
