He was a stud coming out of HS and very highly rated. That's a big time pick up

I’m a big fan of the Elko hire. He’s who I wanted before the season even began. I also think he was something of a force multiplier in his stint as our DC. I hope he can get his players to perform for him better than Jimbo did.

Sounds like we are in the lead for Alabama CB Dezz Ricks

LSU decided they didn't want him after all. (That's seriously what some LSU fans are posting.)

Looks like Tyreek might be back. His Dad tweeted about his senior year, with his son in Aggie gear.

corners next year:

1. Ricks (Bama)
2. Lee (starter from Kansas)
3. Tyreek
4. Mayes (star from UAB)
5. Hill (starter from Florida)
6. Bobby Taylor
7. Jayvon Thomas
8. Bravion Rogers
9. Dalton Brooks

That doesn't count the incoming freshmen. Corner looks a heck of a lot stronger than it did!

Ricks is a great pickup. All the talent of Denver Harris, and hopefully not as many attitude issues.

Dang, Elko has done a great job shoring that position up. Hope we can keep bussey committed and I’ll have a lot less concerns heading into 2024 season and beyond for CB.

I am truly sad for CFB at this point. The portal has completely changed the game, to the point that programs like Saban built can be torn down overnight. A&M will be a drastically different team next year due to nothing more than a coaching change. I have clients in AZ that are heartbroken at what Fisch did to that program when he left for Washington. The majority of the good players will follow him, and they will suck in perpetuity once again. I truly hate what CFB has become, and have gone back to watching the NFL.

Will I watch CFB? Probably. Will I ever pay a dime of my money to go to a game again? Probably not.

you all will probably hate this post, but CFB is a microcosm of politics. money talks, and consumes us all. Eventually we'll get back to our roots but its a tough row to hoe til we get there.

I’m working toward retirement now. With inflation soaring I’m no longer donating anymore. My wife’s business is the tax shelter, and you get no deductions for NIL anyway.

It pains me to say it, but Texas will buy a championship soon. They spend more on NIL than any team

I might have to actually somewhat agree with Colorado's pessimism here

CFB ain't what it used to be. Everyone knows that universities were paying recruits all the time, especially in the SWC but now, a team can fall apart in one night. Anything the NCAA tries to do is practically shite on, they basically have no power anymore. This is a free for all, as you basically see schools like OSU openly admitting that they spend Millions to attract transfers. This sport has gone down the shitter and with a useless organization like the NCAA (some of it's their fault, other stuff is not) ain't helping. In a few years, I kind of expect to see the top schools move away from the NCAA entirely and create their own football league. That idea became a conspiracy theory not long ago to now being a somewhat realistic possibility.

The future of this sport is looking kind of gloomy.

The future of CFB is a semi-pro league with contracts and a salary cap like the NFL

I think we all realize this, but there’s nothing we can really do. It’s my (and I’m sure many on this board’s) favorite sport to watch, I hate what it’s becoming, but I’ll likely still watch just as much of it as before.

Yes it’s truly sad how it’s become NFL-lite. NCAA has no teeth, they’ve lost control. I do think we are heading to an NFL model, AFC vs NFC, except it’ll be SEC and Big 10. Two mega conferences and everybody else gets left out. Which is a shame, the regional rivalries is what made CFB so special.

college baseball is now the purest sport. I think A&M has a good thing going with schlossnagle.

What makes it pure? LSU is outspending everyone on baseball NIL.

Idk if I saw it on here or read it on Twitter but apparently Skeenes either came to visit or was supposed to visit but LSU offered him a BAG and Schloss basically had a sit down with our donors and said if we wanna compete they have to step up. We later added Montgomery so I guess we’re trending in the right direction
