The way I see it there are three levels of Aggies:
1. Those who see the big picture
2. Those who see what is in front of them
3. Those who can't see through Maroon glasses
1 and 2 are united today in a rare way- last time that happened was the SEC move when the LHN drove both to move for different reasons. In fact it is so bad that the ranks of 3 is dropping.
We get Foster and 2 and 3 will be very happy. Some of 1 will be happy, but there will be enough happiness that overall Aggieland will be positive again.
This is why I pre-melted so bad over not getting Boom BTW. This chain of events seemed obvious, even though I never expected anything this bad.

It sucks to lose Malik and Mack (especially Malik. We're okay on the DL, but we've got exactly jackshit at LB), but it's not the end of the world. 2 players don't make or break a team and it's not even a given that they'll pan out.
I'm much more concerned with who our DC is gonna be. At this point, I don't think it's gonna be a great hire. I bet we hire the guy from UH (could do worse) or some guy at a medium sized, 6-6 school with a defense that's around the top 40. Virginia, Duke, Georgia Tech, some school like that.
