True? Who knows. Pressure on Alleva is ratcheting up fast. If they don't get it done in the next 2 or 3 days it is going to get nasty.

I think the LSU DC job is a lot less attractive than lots of those fans will have you believe. Anyone, and more importantly, any candidate, can see three things.
1. LSU's offense sucks arse.
2. Les Miles is on the hot seat.
3. One of the most respected defensive coordinators just left LSU to go to rebuilding job.

Agree with you and for the reasons you mentioned. I think Les is on the hot seat but it looks like Alleva and Miles may have an almost toxic relationship at this point. Alleva is stuck because Les has $13M+ buyout.
Fans don't have a clue what happened with Chavis but something bad went down. By now some outside coaches know something about it. Just don't see why a high profile DC would go into that mess.
Looks like Haley has a chance to be promoted. Never heard of an "upgrade" from within
. That's new to me. I would love to see Stoops get the DC position just for the entertainment value on the rant. Would be comic gold.

I can't see them hiring Fredo Stoops. I just can't. But Alleva is fricking this all up by putting a dollar limit on Les. We're also putting the screws to him by talking to Henry and Haley as well.
He's got got a hard budget and it's not changing and that includes severance. Adam Henry only makes 320k. Most of their coaches just signed 2 year deals so they can't really afford to fire anyone. But they only had 3 defensive coaches so they need a LB coach.
They are probably going to have to fire someone (or move them to admin) to fit in an extra def coach. And so they need 2 coaches for that 1.3m (whether they fire a coach or move him, his salary still has to be paid)

I know it's not the case, but I like to think that candidates have been reading TigerDroppings, and they are terrified to come to LSU after reading all of the posts calling Chavis bad.
