An 8-4 OU will not be ranked, what are you thinking???

That's their worst case scenario finish IMO, and they might not be ranked, but there were 5 teams that had 4 regular season losses and were ranked at the end of the last season (as long as we can conveniently leave out that OU had 4 losses and wasn't ranked )

I see ND with 2 or 3 losses (they'll absolutely be ranked with that) and OU with 3 which will keep them ranked. OSU will probably be in the others receiving votes and I think Cal's going to finish in the top 25 as well. Time will tell though.

Cal will finish probably 9-3 so they will very likely be ranked. They didn't even fall out with the loss to Utah.

Well Cal just got their second loss so 9-3 is probably their ceiling

24-0 loss to the fighting Rhodes bump.

I kid you guys not. We were at a Halloween party hosted by a fellow Ag (dude brings kegs to all his kid's bday parties and did tonight. He rules)

I asked a horn friend if they had played ISU yet and he said it was next week. Texas had a bye. I thought he was crazy and I looked at the game and they were down 7-0. Guy is a legitimate season ticket holder and nut. No way he would not be watching the game.

Either he lied or blocked it out from his memory knowing this was coming.

Iowa purposefully scheduled their homecoming for the sip game

Think about it

Strong and co and the sip media used that as bulletin board material ALL WEEK

And they still got shut out

Cal is garbage. Oh well. Probably a little strong but their schedule does not help either - they have one for sure W (ORST) and probably they will beat ASU.

They have 3 losses already... @ Oregon and Big Game looms

What a rollercoaster in Austin. They all look so dejected and are already looking forward to basketball.

Thanks T for unanchoring it.

We can't let a little setback like beating OU end this thread.

Texas has lost their three true road games

38-3, 50-7, 24-0.

That's inexcusable.

The only other B12 team Iowa State has ever shut out was the 2001 Baylor Bears, led by Kevin Steele.

I'm Stunned. I was out and about and couldn't watch the game, but I've now seen the drive charts and play-by-play. Wow, it's like we played the 85 bears. We gout our arse handed to us by a 2 and 5 team. I stated 50 pages ago in this thread that Charlie lost me after the ND game. Nice guy, but not the right coach. You can't make 5 Million dollars a YEAR and have this poor of performance. Yet another 21+ point blow out on Charlies head.

quote:

This is the worst brand of Texas football in 60 years. Take off the "gotta always see something positive" glasses and realize that Charlie Strong is a good defensive coordinator who rode the coattails of Teddy Bridgewater to this job that he is completely unqualified for. Things are not getting better. At all. The sooner he resigns or is fired the better. Until then I guarandamntee you there will be more embarrassing $#@!shows like what we saw tonight. This football program is in its death throws and Nick Sabin isn't walking through that door.

quote:

When we lose to Kansas, Charlie won't even get a bus ticket home.

quote:

I agree recruiting is a big concern.....however, what difference does it make if you coach studs down to mediocrity or 2 stars up to mediocrity?

quote:

Whose the next OC since we're gonna have Charlie through 2016? Holgorsen after he's fired... probably won't work but could be entertaining. Then after it doesn't work in 2016 part ways with Charlie, blow up the conference and hire Briles on the way out. $#@! everything

quote:

stat on LHN..scored 112-10 on the road this season..wow another stat...first shutout for texas by unranked opponent since 1961

quote:

The revolving door of coordinators for the past few years is a huge problem. I $#@!ing miss Greg Davis.

quote:

This is one of those rare opportunities that a Coach and a program can both benefit from a mutual parting of ways. Charlie can go back to south Florida where he probably would flourish and we can have a fresh start with a more offensive minded coach who can take advantage of the high school talent in state. I like Coach Strong but the longer this goes on the more it's starting to feel like a Buffalo Bills Super Bowl watch party.

Our fanbase is dumb. What definitely brings stability to a program is splash hires every few years! Not stability! Let's get Nick Saban in here he can make freshman into seniors by waving his magic $#@!! We are so talented, I read that on a message board, that's why NFL scouts are frothing at the mouth to get our track stars who can't catch, and our db who can't get into position. Or our line that can't block, and our running back who models himself after Trent Richardson (NFL). There is little to work with. They can't even execute the simple $#@!.

It's starting to get harder to remember when we weren't the 6th best team in Texas.

I'm in the 'Give him a 3rd year' camp, but the Miami face saving option doesn't seem completely unbelievable. Wouldn't surprise me if certain boosters have considered a behind the scenes token 'Consultant' offer to pay him whatever it takes to match/exceed the buyout he'd lose by resigning for another job.

quote:

For the most part, I dont want to see charlie go .. but after sleeping on it.. I wouldnt care if he left us for Miami.

Didn't a guy leave Alabama for aggy?

quote:

Charlie is the perfect "bridge" coach. He will create/has created a no-nonsense, disciplined group of kids for the next guy. He will bring in 2 solid, tough minded recruiting classes before he is fired. He's had 1 true class so far, BTW. More of your big name coaches will be interested in coming this time around because the cupboard is not bare like it was when Mack left. I really do like Charlie though and you can see that the kids love him, but it's looking more and more likely that this scenario will play out. For the next coach, there are obviously moving parts and timing is everything. It will very interesting to see if Tom Herman takes the USC job. If he doesnt, it's likely we may be already talking to him. How Chip Kelly does this year with Philly is huge as well. I think these 2 guys are our top 2 targets and both are likely to say yes. This next coaching search will be night and day different than the last. No top coach in their right mind was going to come here knowing what Mack had left this program. None of them. This time it will be different.

quote:

We are currently not in the lead or in position to sign any of the top players in the state. You think getting destroyed by Iowa State is improving our positions with those recruits?

quote:

Silver lining on Iowa State game is that none of the recruits probably went up there to see it in person.

quote:

I'd be willing to bet that Heard would be a Heisman hopeful under Art Briles

quote:

Can you imagine the hate Mack Brown would have got if he had a season that were as $#@!ty as this one? Charlie's a $#@!ing joke but wont be fired until at least the end of next season. We're gonna continue to be skull $#@!ed by teams because we have a $#@! coach who can't recruit either. We're $#@!ed and there is absolutely no signs of improvement on the horizon. OU win? Case $#@!ING McCoy beat OU....

quote:

Demoting your OC and QB after game 1 is stupid on so many levels

quote:

We are $#@!ed.

Mack left that team stacked compared to what Charlie has brought in
