I kid you guys not. We were at a Halloween party hosted by a fellow Ag (dude brings kegs to all his kid's bday parties and did tonight. He rules)

I asked a horn friend if they had played ISU yet and he said it was next week. Texas had a bye. I thought he was crazy and I looked at the game and they were down 7-0. Guy is a legitimate season ticket holder and nut. No way he would not be watching the game.

Either he lied or blocked it out from his memory knowing this was coming.

Take off the "gotta always see something positive" glasses and realize that Charlie Strong is a good defensive coordinator who rode the coattails of Teddy Bridgewater to this job that he is completely unqualified for. This is one of those rare opportunities that a Coach and a program can both benefit from a mutual parting of ways. Charlie can go back to south Florida where he probably would flourish and we can have a fresh start with a more offensive minded coach who can take advantage of the high school talent in state. Charlie is the perfect "bridge" coach. He will create/has created a no-nonsense, disciplined group of kids for the next guy. He will bring in 2 solid, tough minded recruiting classes before he is fired. He's had 1 true class so far, BTW. More of your big name coaches will be interested in coming this time around because the cupboard is not bare like it was when Mack left. I really do like Charlie though and you can see that the kids love him, but it's looking more and more likely that this scenario will play out. For the next coach, there are obviously moving parts and timing is everything. It will very interesting to see if Tom Herman takes the USC job. If he doesnt, it's likely we may be already talking to him. How Chip Kelly does this year with Philly is huge as well. I think these 2 guys are our top 2 targets and both are likely to say yes. This next coaching search will be night and day different than the last. No top coach in their right mind was going to come here knowing what Mack had left this program. None of them. This time it will be different.
