Lacamera

Also bertolet has been significantly better in practice.

I agree he has some anxiety issues, but what makes us think lacamera would suddenly become lambo under the lights?

Bert is 86% right now, and 100% on pat's putting him in the top tier of CFB kickers right now.

It's stressful but there are plenty of big time programs with worse options.

I still hate him, but I can handle a blown field goal occasionally. What I can't handle are missed extra points. As long as he stays perfect there And makes most field goals I'm ok. But if he misses one extra point I don't ever want to see him again.

Yes, Bertolet has missed only one kick, but it was under 40 yards (makable) and it could have clinched the game (critical).

Those circumstances (makable and critical) make it all too easy to remember his disastrous past. In 2012, he missed 7 PATs and over 40% of his FGs. He started 2013 missing 3 more more PATs before Sumlin made the switch and went with Lambo, a soccer walk-on who few had heard of. You can't blame someone for thinking "here we go again."

As for the offense, I've gotta side with those that are a bit uneasy. Yes, Arkansas controlled the ball for much of the game and we ran fewer plays than normal, but it still seemed we had little rhythm. As for the 8.5 yard average, the 6 plays of 20 yards or more really helped. I know you can't disregard those plays, but remove them and we averaged less than 4 yards a play.

Allen is really coming into his own and Kirk is all-world, but a lot of the plays left me scratching my head and the rushing game was not good (leading carrier had 28 yards and a 3.5 yard average). The play where Carson seemed to have an easy first down, but ran into his own guy and we had to punt, is still burned in my memory. Rather sad the main bright spots for the running game have been Murray and Dolezal. Hopefully White will be back soon.

All in all, very happy to get a win and elated to be 4-0, but I can't fault those who worry about the kicking or are uneasy with the offense (and I think we're all worried about runs up the middle).
At least we are 4-0 and not 1-3 with two losses coming from a shanked XP and punter fumble.

Just catching up on threads. I stick by my assessment with Bertolet. His GAME stats

Freshman year
Missed 10 extra points TEN.
16 of 24 on field goals - 66%
1 of 6 from 30-39 yards - 0.167%

LSU missed XP and 2 missed FGs (7 points and Ags lose 24-19). Bama - Ags go up 20-0 and missed XP momentum changes as crowd gets back into the game. 2nd half missed 37 yard FG. Manziel fails on 2 pt conversion because we were up by 5 and trying to make up for missed PAT.

I don't need to learn a new lesson. I learned my lesson in 2012. Sumlin put him out this year and I get that. Maybe he has matured. Then boom... here we go again with a chance to win it at the end.

Do we really need to trot someone out that has proven big situations and games are a problem for him?? Really. We have some big games coming up where FGs and extra points have to be made.

I get this but what is in Bertolet's background to make you think he can?? He has a resume already and it ain't good at all with or without pressure. I'm all for giving chances to someone but good grief. This is going to change the offensive philosophy as well. It has to because this guy is faaaar from automatic. In a close game I would suggest it is almost a coin flip from less than 40 yards.

He can kick it a mile... great. Like Harvey Pennick said about golfers.... the woods are full of long drives.

Is it just me or does it seem like Bertolet is better at an angle? 2012 PATs and some missed FGs have been all from in the center... why doesnt Sumlin just accept hes better on the left hash inside of the middle?

The ones he should + a little 55-yarder.
He's our kicker this year. Very happy for him. We're gonna need him.

I heard a guy yell "Go Tbird" before he kicked the last field goal. For real, it was so funny. He even tried to explain it to his friends who were kinda like eh.

Bama's FG kicker just missed a 20 yard chipshot. He's like 4or5/10 on the year, and missed his first 4 of the season.

Surely they could find someone on campus to walk on or something right?

Makes bertolet seem pretty good.

Bump ... can't believe they didn't got for it on fourth. If they were going to kick, maybe they should have take a few penalties so it would have been a 50 yarder instead of a chip shot.
