"first"?

He has betrayed our trust time and again.

This is his first mistake this year. It's been 3 years. He wasn't ready as a true freshman.

Bertolet is the least of our problems last year.

Our "Throw it to Christian Kirk and pray" offensive scheme and our interior run defense are far more concerning.

He's an upperclassman. He doesn't get to start fresh at this point. He's had a long arse leash, all the support in the world, and still gives us reason to have grave doubt over and over again.

Yeah, he's gonna make some more this year. More than he'll miss. But I'll be damned if I trust him again and I will hold him accountable for every misstep this year. He's out of excuses.

I'm not saying he's the main problem.

I'm saying we can't afford for him to be a problem at all with all the chances he's had.

The coaches know all of that. They don't trust him either. They are not giving him a performance award by giving him the job.

Our offense averaged a foot short of 10 yards per play, our defense is what struggled and didn't allow our offense to get possessions.

If Kyle gives instead of keeps in the red zone we score another touchdown. Playcalling was excellent.

Fourth quarter and OT play calling was down right inspiring.

Disgaree, we continue to fail to develop an offensive identity.

I've thought the same. But I felt better about it tonight. We just had so few plays. I think we've been enamored with the "balance" thing, a la Sherm. It's clear where our talent is. Throw the damn ball. Throw the hell out of it. Run the ball when they're vulnerable to it. But throw the damn ball. Throw it throw it throw it.

Taylor missed it on purpose. He knew we'd take care of it in OT. He was looking out for the gamblers. Ags covered thanks to him.

Seriously, Sumlin would be wise to make a change. The kid may have a strong leg in practice. But, his mental game is trash. You can tell in his body language he can't handle this. There's got to be a kid in the state of Texas who can make these kicks.

He would be wise to make a change after one miss? Lacamera isn't ready. So we have two guys recruited to play the position, and you think we could find a student between now and the end of season that would be better than our first string kicker?

I hear ya. I think Bertolet carries a false bravado in his body language. That miss will further the inner melt. I've seen teams hold kicker tryouts in the middle of the season and there's sometimes a soccer geek or kicker coming into his prime who could get on scholly. You're right though. It's unlikely. But right now, no one on that team has confidence in him. And he knows that. Making an effort towards fixing this situation is at least something to consider.

How do we know LaCamera isn't ready? Because Bertolet outkicks him in practice? That doesn't mean we'd be ill-served by a change; it's a mental thing.

Even the greats, have trouble getting it through the uprights sometimes.
