I mean sure. Really doesn't change my opinion that A&M basketball would be in a better place with a different coach but sure, this has been a successful year

The season is definitely a success based on preseason outlook, but then nobody had any idea how good Davis and Gilder would be right away and how improved Caruso and Trocha were.

Just who the frick thought giving BK an extension was a good idea? He is garbage. If he had any respect he'd void his contract and tell the admins to hire an actual basketball coach. This shite is fucjing old.

This realty does blow my mind. At least with football it made more sense considering there was a very real possibility that another school was going to snatch up sumlin, who at the time was one of the hot names. BUT does anybody think someone was going to come in and steal billy Kennedy away? if someone had would anyone be upset?
I get that for recruiting purposes you need to make a commitment to the coach to show stability, but a 5 year deal when you've had a total of 1 good year?

Yes. So what is it you don't understand? It's well accepted that others were negatively recruiting because of Parkinson's. The contract nixes that, doesn't it? And before anybody goes off on guarantees or buyouts, I don't think any of that has been finalized.

A great year would be one where you win the conference outright, don't lose five conference games in a row, make the final four.
And I'm fine with an extension, though I'd take Jamie Dixon in a heartbeat over Kennedy, but my main issue with it is the length. 5 years is too much, especially when you don't need to give him a five year deal for him to stay. What do you not understand about that?
I'm not being negative. It was a nice season.
