Latest from Bryan PD on Reveille Ranch armed robberies -- Aggies WR questioned by investigators, provides proof he was out of town at time. Investigation ongoing:

Update: August 6, 2014
Typically the Bryan Police Department does not comment on active investigations and people who have been interviewed, however, due to the speculation on the internet about the involvement of Devante “Speedy” Noil we feel it important to update the public. Information that was circulated on the internet and other sources named Noil as a person of interest in conjunction with the robbery that occurred on July 23rd. The Investigators reached out to Noil who cooperated fully with the investigation. Noil advised he was out of town on July 23, 2014 and was able to provide proof which was later confirmed by investigators. The investigation is still ongoing into both robberies and we ask that if anyone has information about these offenses to contact the Bryan Police Department at 979-209-5316.

On July 21, 2014 at 11:00pm a 22 year old male was approached by one black male in the parking lot of Reveille Ranch, located at 3645 Wellborn Rd. The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded the victim’s belongings. That evening the victim was unable to describe the suspect. The next day he advised the suspect had a muscular build standing 5’05-5’07”, weighing 150-170 pounds, wearing baggy clothes.

On July 23, 2014 at 11:00pm a 27 year old male was approached by one black male in the stairwell of Reveille Ranch. The suspect brandished a firearm and demanded his belongings. There was a second suspect who was acting as a lookout. The suspects in this case are described as:

Suspect 1: 6’00-6’01 with a muscular build, weighing 180-185lbs, wearing a black T-shirt, gym shorts, and bandana and had a short afro haircut.
Suspect 2: unknown description

The victim’s in both cases were not injured. The cases have been turned over to the Criminal Investigation Division. We are asking if anyone has information on these cases to contact the Bryan Police Department at 979-209-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 979-775-TIPS.

The safety of our community does not have borders. It is the goal of every law enforcement agency to protect the citizens that we serve. Be the eyes and ears of your police department. When you see suspicious activity contact the College Station Police Department at 979-764-3600, the Texas A&M University Police Department at 979-845-2345, or the Bryan Police Department and the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office at 979-361-3888. Together we can make a difference in our community.

I'm going to write up something now that this is determined. It's 30 for 30 type shite....

This is the story I was told. I can not swear to the veracity of all of it but I was told this the day after this story broke.

Before Bryan PD released any information about these robberies, Shea Dixon received info from a friend that told him he was certain that Speedy Noil had just committed armed robbery. This person said he knew the victim who positively ID'd Speedy. The person was someone Dixon knew and trusted (and an LSU alum).

Again, before the release, Dixon passed the info on to Hamm and thus Hamm dropped the note (btw, no idea what Brent Z knew). Neither publicly named Speedy on their boards, but both privately told people that they had info pointing to him. That spread fast and neither did anything to stop the rumors on their own boards. This info quickly went through the LSU fanbase and it's why you had so many people posting he did it on the SECr.

At this point, it's still impossible to determine if this was merely a game of telephone where it went from "he looked kinda like Speedy" to "Speedy did it!!!", or an attempt at framing him or destroying his reputation. It crossed a serious line though because he was suddenly wrapped up in a pretty severe legal case that he knew nothing about. Crossing such a line should have consequences and I hope 247 fully investigates this matter and takes appropriate action. These guys exist as rumor mongers and I get that but they shouldn't get a pass here because one random guy told them that he knew a guy. It's bullshite.

Btw, I would have posted this before but honestly I had no idea who was telling the truth in the matter. Probably still don't entirely

Hamm has to be pretty close to finished covering A&M. He really should lose his job over this. It seems like he relies on the players as sources and I would think this would burn a lot of those bridges. I'm not a Liucci fan and he has his flaws but he would have NEVER done something like this.

Dixon I don't really care about and this doesn't really impact his ability to report on LSU, despite it being kind of a shitty thing to do.

Hamm, as a representative of A&M, has to draw the line between promoting himself and maintaining the image of our university and its athletes. He has tiptoed that line before in order to promote himself, but I don't think has ever clearly crossed it.

In this instance, he clearly crossed that line, and I think A&M should do whatever it can to make sure he has zero affiliation (directly or indirectly) with the program or school going forward.

I don't think Looch would have done that. He has always struck me as a protect the shield type guy.

As arrogant as Liucci can be, he does keep a pretty tight leash on topics like this.

He needs to be finished. He has done way too many foolish and downright stupid things and everyone knows that this whole Noil drama will just increase the hostility between Hamm and Looch and their followings. Perroni is solid and can handle the site for the time being until they find someone else.

Even if Shea did give him a "tip," it's still on Hamm to do some digging of his own before going and posting something of that significance based off of what someone told someone else who then told him off the record. It just shows Hamm's true lack of journalistic integrity.

Liucci is straight up sunshine pumper who only sells things that fans want to hear.....which is why you're right. He will never say something that he knows will anger/sadden the fanbase until it's official, especially on rumors.

Getting bad news only to find out everything's fine > getting good news only to find out everything's terrible

Advantage Hamm.

From a fan's perspective maybe. But if you're going to drag an 18 year old's name through the mud, that oh by the way plays for the very team that indirectly provides you with a job, you damn sure better be right.

I was 3/4 kidding. IMO it was a pretty shitty thing to do even if he didn't explicit name him. It was obvious to everyone who he was referring to.
