0% chance of that happening, since John Sharp, who is calling the shots here, already more or less fired him when he was President.

Cook is the only real option I can think of right now.

I was in the middle of reading the "Bayside" thread on Texags as this happened and it got moved to premium...

I got to the point where it said Chip Kelley had us on his list clicked next page and it asked for a log in...

WTF is going on?

What's going on is that there was a lot of truth in that thread. Too much truth for the "unwashed", in the Texags way of looking at things.

ETA I don't mean about Chip Kelly, just in general.

His firing is directly related to the football program. How, I don't know yet I'm going to try and find out this evening. But this is more about Sumlin than you guys think I'm afraid.

Regardless of whether or not this results in something happening with Sumlin, we need a change.

I still think it's the traditional warning shot to Sumlin and we want the AD in place to lead the hiring process for next year in case it goes down, but I don't know shite

What was the flash to bang time between Groff leaving and Slocum being fired...or was that different because Groff stepped down effective the end of the season and Hyman is leaving effective immediately?

And it also fits with some rumors in the AD that the donors were about to clean house on all levels.

Edit - let's discuss in rumor thread to keep it all localized

Read on another board that White is the one who pulled the trigger on Hyman because he's not confident that the debt in the athletic department is being managed properly.

Threads and posters getting whacked for mentioning this

quote:

Sumlin wanted a big hire for OC. Hyman balked. Sumlin told Chief and they went and told Sharp it's us or Hyman. Sharp fired Hyman.

Wait wait wait. Sumlin went to CHIEF and then Chief got Sharp to fire Hyman?

Jesus, if that is true then Chief is the Dick Cheney of college football.

Honestly that would make me feel better about everything to know that Chief is really running the show and Sumlin is a figurehead.
