I just don't see how you can't see spav as a big part of the overall problem at this point

Then he should learn to fricking throw. He's put a lot of passes into the dirt and both of his picks were completely avoidable, but he somehow didn't notice deep safety help.
As opposed to KA that went on a 15-20 throw run with precisely ONE completion for a 3 yard loss.

I'm not making a judgement or comment on coaches

DGAF. We lose period if Spav keeps doing what he's doing, which might lead to us losing Martell anyways.
Hell, Martell isn't going to do any better than Kyle or Kyler under Spav's sorry excuse for an offense. Not in this conference.

I'm just saying ... zebras and stripes and whatnot.

Murray said you only ever play me when we are doing bad and don't give me a chance to succeed.
With the exception of the ASU game, Kyler is right.
HOWEVER.
If you want a chance to succeed, EARN it, young man. Be a team player. Practice like your hair's on fire. LEARN TO frickING THROW CRISPLY AND ACCURATELY. Do the little things.

Fire Spav and we instantly become contenders for a division crown.

No, we really don't.

He's obviously hurt. He threw a really nice ball at the start of the season (accurate + good zip), but that disappeared after the big shot in the Miss St. game and the numerous big shots in the Bama game (particularly that bad fall on his throwing shoulder.
That said, he definitely should have been pulled. There's no reason to keep playing a hurt QB who can't make the throws he normally can.
But I think putting in Hubenak was the better call, even without considering the Kyler tantrum.

tbird can you delete the above
The offense is abysmal right now. No doubt. But what I saw was not play calling or design. We got flat whipped at the LOS (both sides tbh). The WRs showed no effort. The QB had happy feet. The RB made some real boneheaded plays. We fricked up ST and couldn't stop the run. And nobody but Watts should be particularly proud of their effort.
There aren't many on that plane ride home that should be pointing fingers at anyone else. They didn't respond after last week. Not anyone from players to coaches. Not offense or defense or special teams

Explain what the offense would look like if we ran Christensen's scheme? In my mind it looks like Mizzou offense from the mid aughts

Our OL is terrible and while our defense is a lot better than last year, it's still given up 200+ rushing yards in back to back weeks.
We've got a long way to go until we're legit division contenders.

No, no we don't. We are 2 or 3 years away from that and 4 or 5 from being every year contenders and that's only of we can keep recruiting well. That's a big if.

I meant this tongue in cheek:
Fire Spav and we instantly become contenders for a division crown
Obviously we'd have to hire a competent OC. But we DID become defensively legitimate overnight by firing our DC and getting one who knows what he's doing. There's $500B spent on a new stadium, paid primarily by butts in seats the first 5 years (capital contribution). We have a lot riding on having a team that shows improvement. That's well worth and extra $1M for an established OC.
Why does it seem like we're always 1-2 years away?

Art Briles would cut off his left nut to have the talent on offense we have
The right guy could do great stuff
