So what did he say?

The bigger question is, is he parroting something said by the coaching staff?

If he is parroting the staff then frick em all and fire them all.

I do think our expectations are out of line. We are historically a 7-8 win program, and Sumlin has given us more than that. We should be happy.

Did he basically blame us for having outsized expectations?

Blaming the fanbase is a great way to drum up subscriptions I hear

He pulled the "the most vocal people are the ones who are too cowardly to do so in real life" card.

Then he started bitching that people would have been disappointed with a win over LSU and a 10-3 season. After the Auburn game, no shite dicklicker!

No, that's just my coping mechanism . But wouldn't surprise me. Hell, Sumlin has used this excuse in the past.

I think he starts to see subscriptions fall due to 1) growing disinterest from our fanbase (I'll starting to fall here) and 2) sunshine reports vs. mediocre results. Guess that's what happens when your livelihood is based on a good relationship with the staff

What? I would not have been disappointed with a 10-win season.

If we have an underwhelming OC hire excitement for next year will be at it's lowest since pre 2010. If you combine that with a meh 7-5 type season next year I think we will have to make a change at the top.

Playing the preseason expectations game is dumb because so many of its keystone assumptions turn out to be wrong. People expected the SEC West to be good. It wasn't. People expected ASU to be good. They weren't. Vanderbilt and South Carolina combined to win 7 games. Our defense was supposed to improve from terrible to just bad. They improved much more than that.

In other words, we ended up with the easiest schedule we'll ever have in the SEC, the defensive improvement was better than even the drunkest kool aid chuggers thought it would be, and 1) we didn't take advantage of it and 2) looked completely uncompetitive in 3 of our 4 losses.

The loss to Auburn would be a lot more palatable if they'd actually turned out to be a NC contender. Losing to Ole Miss on the road would have been more tolerable if we'd scored more than a FG against a team that Memphis hung almost 40 on.

Yup. This year was a huge missed opportunity, whatever the preseason expectations were. We're not in a position as a program to let opportunities like this just slide by.

He referred to the posters engaging in personal and hateful attacks towards coaches or other posters, saying that they wouldn't put their real name to them or say it to peoples faces.

He more or less rudely told Gabe to sit down and shut up on live radio today. I wouldn't tolerate that shite, he isn't talking to a fricking 18 year old intern.

And I disagree, I say the same stuff about Spav and Sumlin IRL that I do here. Moreover lots of people here and on TA know my name and have seen my picture.

He is just going to make that board 10x worse by bitching about the subscribers and expectations. Now there will be a million threads about it and more bitching about the moderation in response to those threads getting deleted. Terrible
