Even if Bass got blocked in the back he should've made the play. That whole play was ugly involving several players, not just Devonte Harris.

This clip is not a fair one. The kid is running full speed and makes one heck of a stop and go cut. Then his burst of speed is quite impressive when he takes off again. I know it looks bad but at real speed, the running back should get a ton of credit for the move more than the defenders for not catching him.

it really did. The full play is stark at how bad it was. Lot of poor efforts and one player just freelanced and took himself completely out of the play without a Mizzou guy so much as looking at him funny. Not a single person beat a block.

tmc, what does our defense do during the week? I know we've had a number of injuries, but I don't feel like the guys improve over the course of the season.

really? I'd say Myles Garrett, Otaro Alaka, and Josh Walker have made remarkable improvement. Watts and Shaan have been up and down. Wilson has really come on. I feel like Zo Williams and Hardreck Walker have both improved quite a bit. I will say that I think several freshmen, especially on the line, have hit the wall though.

The improvements from upper classmen are usually subtle and the most rapid gains happen in the off-season when they hit the weights and practice practice practice. Most in-season practice is focused on game planning.

I guess I should have specified non-freshman. I look at Everett, Harris and Matthews, and I feel like they have gotten worse every year. I don't know, I just keep wanting to see improvements as a unit, and I don't see it. Maybe I'm wrong.

Yes for sure.

Watts plays like a freshman sometimes but you can see improvement from where he began the year. His potential seems pretty high. Agree with the other two.

Everett doesn't seem like he is playing at the same level he was last year. Harris I would say is about the same in his limited play time. Matthews had nowhere to go but up and has still found a way to be worse.

Agree with this. Not sure what his deal is. He has occasional brilliant moments (INTS in particular) but way more busted coverages than I remember from '12 and '13.

Not sure if you're saying that's a good thing or a bad thing. I've yet to watch a game and think, "Man, that Harris really played outstanding today."

Worse than '12 certainly. And I don't know why. He has always been a solid tackler which seems to be missing everywhere else, but his coverage skills... eh. I thought he did a really nice job in coverage against Auburn. I'm not about to prove myself wrong watching a Mizzou replay.

ETA: PLEASE, God of Football, give us Boom!

I have to admit I laughed my butt off at this. That doesn't mean I'm not going to kick your arse at our next gathering... if only I can catch you.

That's the very moment I turned the game off. I couldn't take it anymore.
