It would just be dismissed cause it destroys the current narrative

The last thing bowl reps want to do is embarrass schools or conferences but I think this is going to get out. Too many people know since bowl reps across the country had to change their announcements.

It's weird seeing the teasips move the pieces in the media and the Ags forced to respond. It's all so strategic and controlled. Like a game of Risk

Its even more weird when you consider what the bowl selection process was like in 2012

So LSU screwed it up?

Can't say I'm surprised.

When it does come out and it turns out to have been one of our people (small chance, but I can see it happening), they need to be removed from A&M for putting their personal preferences before the interest of fans. Scared pussy arse bitch!

again, if it had been us, the other schools wouldn't have been allowed to select after us. They did and those games were even announced. The Texas Bowl asked the SEC to change it because they had provided the team already locked in (and they couldn't change) incorrect info on the opponent

It could have been either school leaders. Don't count out our administration on being the culprits.

We will probably know who cauaed this soon since the Liberty Bowl would have gotten the home state team that has fans who are eager for a bowl game. That probably didn't sit right with them. Or maybe the Birmingham Bowl who lost out on a team on the rise and got one who has no HC. I'm sure this move pissed off the bowl people/sponsors way more than it did Aggies/Longhorns.

I can't tell if I'm explaining this poorly or you are fricking with me.

The SEC allows its member institutions to select their own bowl. They go in order of finish, thus LSU then A&M. And after us, then Arky, UT, SC, etc. A&M communicated their choice to the SEC and those next 3 picked. The Bowls even announced the matchups as official.

It's one thing for there to be a rumor Tennessee is going to the Liberty Bowl but it's quite another when the Liberty Bowl puts out a press release. They only do that when the SEC tells them UT officially picked them. Tennessee picked after us and so our pick had 100% been communicated.

So it could not be "either school leaders" because if it were ours, we wouldn't have selected the Texas Bowl to begin with (and Arkansas would have immediately grabbed it instead of Birmingham, who also put out a release). And this isn't grade school and the SEC isn't going to let us have takebacks and piss off all the bowls and our conference mates

ETA: and had it been us changing our minds, I think we can be 100% positive we'd be in Birmingham. SEC to A&M: frick you for screwing this up. You want out, switch with Arky. We were given an option because it was out of our control (we bitched quite a bit btw and tried to get LSU to swap because we didn't like any of our other options)

I'm not the smartest bear. That was the best explanation I've seen.

Thank you. I award you two points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Look, I read what you've said and I'm in no way calling you a liar. Thats the info you heard and I appreciate that you shared it among your fellow Ags.

But, I'm still holding skepticism on who would be at blame for preventing the game from being played. When shite like this is said from within administration, I just have to hold some doubt...

We hope to play them again in a BCS bowl or playoff game at some point,

After reading what you heard, I'm going 95%/5% with Texas being the favorite to blame for squashing the matchup. But I'm also not going to rule out the miniscule chance that it was our leaders. There's just too much pride at times within our own leadership for me to completely rule them out.

Sorry, but that's just how I feel. But I guess we will find out one day after bowl officials are ready to leak info out.

sorry didn't mean to come off like a dick. I honestly wasn't sure if I just explained it terribly. But it's just honest skepticism and of that I'm generally a fan. But for the life of me, given what happened, I don't even see a reasonable explanation in which it could have been us.

I mean the best I can come up with is we changed our mind but that means that the SEC, our conference mates, and the bowls all kowtowed to the whims of our administration. And while I think we're pretty cool and all, we're not bama

To be honest, I needed that "maybe I'm not explaining myself correctly" since I had to read it twice. ADD is a real bitch
