All because they're dumb about football?

This is not fair to us diehards.

Wow

With Anwar being the only source for the non yell slides, I like many Ags were sure that those must have been photo shopped

Damn embarrassing

You've GOT to be kidding. Right? Say you're kidding.

ETA: OK, not kidding. Suspensions are fortunately immediate, not during the season. But... wow.

I wish. National media of every kind will be all over this. Apparently the majority of women at the event realized and enjoyed the humorous nature of the slides but understandably there were many in attendance who found it offensive and degrading. Not to mention everyone who has and will read it online

Yeah, there's the problem. I imagine Turner and Banks presented it in a way that was undeniably in bad taste but funny, except to a few. But online, those 2 are in line to be crucified.

I'm completely ignorant about modern blocking schemes, where's my invitation?
Though I think I could have understood their sterling attempts at humor.

A&M has had an annual Chalk Talk for years.
I want to say the first one occurred at the end of Coach Slocum's tenure.
The slide in question was lame--not because it was offensive or anything--but bc it wasn't funny.
Just one opinion.

Most Ags in attendance couldn't have cared less about it; but per our sensitive society, the voocal minority seems to have the largest platform and loudest mic.

My wife's exact reaction.

I highly agree with your second paragraph.

Also, what the frick kind of name is "Anwar"? Sounds like a shitty trade name for a blood pressure medication.

Well said.

I mean, it's getting to the point where no one has a sense of humor about ANYthing. Time and place, granted, but at an event that's been a roast for years? Kinda silly someone decided to get uptight about it now.

That'd be like me getting offended all of a sudden at, say, a popular comedian's racial jokes. Just laugh (or don't, because these slides were pretty lame, like you said) and move on. Everyone acts like every little thing is the end of the world these days, I swear

It's not ultra-sensitive or PC to believe in good manners. I don't want to work with anyone who can't see how unprofessional that shite was.

It was stupid. And if it's been going on for years as some of you say, it's been stupid for years. Sooner or later someone would be offended enough to complain and in today's world, with everyone looking to be offended and express their outrage all over social media, you would have to expect it to be a big black eye for A&M.

Do they warn attendees ahead of time what to expect? I would not want my daughter or wife to attend and see that crap without knowing what was coming. They might enjoy it, but they'd want to be able to make that choice before being exposed to it.

We were doing so well too after the transfer/Moorehead debacles. Would have been nice to escape the sports wasteland unscathed, but alas we are Aggy and are nothing if not proficient at giving talking heads ways to fill up their columns.

IIRC, chalk talk isn't an technically an official A&M sponsored event like coach's Night.
