He's started three more games than Kellen Mond has. I was unaware you had intimate knowledge of how Stidham and Mond carry themselves off the field though.

I don't want any more drama for QB, even if it means dropping Stidham. Just pass.

We'll be fine after this year and how well Trevor has played and the team has performed. Bama has 1-2 QB and RB transfers per year because they don't give a crap about anything other than success.

Off the field? Who said anything about off the field? I know I didn't. Are we even having the same conversation? Are you hearing things/off your meds or something?

Kyle Allen had all the *potential* in the world, but he's bitch made. Basically the inverse of Trevor Knight, who has a low ceiling at quarterbacking but is a straight-up man.

I don't really see how this is relevant unless you know something about Stidham or Mond that we don't. Otherwise it's just speculation on their character. It's not like Stidham is a grad transfer. He's also not playing football this year which is odd to me and a little worrisome

We had several CBs for him on 247 after this weekend. Would be a big get

This is just bizarre now. You are totally missing the point.

Have you ever heard the phrase "a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush" ?

The point being: a KNOWN good quarterback (Stidham) is a better thing to have than a quarterback who MAY be good (anyone else), because a QBs ability to make the transition from HS to college is a hard thing to predict (as is the CFB to NFL jump).

So, in a situation where we HAD to choose between taking Stidham any anyone else (which is a decision we don't even know we'd HAVE to make), the wise choice is Stidham, since we KNOW he made the HS to college transition with flying colors and we don't know if the others will.

He's not playing football because he is waiting to see where Briles lands. I've already said I don't think he is a possibility for us because from all indications he is just waiting on Briles, but if he did want to come here, I'd take him in a heartbeat.

CBs didn't look promising until I noticed almost all the A&M CBs were 10/8. Agree this would be a great addition if we land him.

Stidham has started three games. By fall of next year he will have had one more season of college ball compared to Mond. The bird in hand right now is Mond because he is actually committed to us.

Why isn't he playing JUCO?

Allen will love playing for Houston and never competing for a playoff spot.

Listening to Greg Powers this morning and he said that Littles and Wilson were at the Vols Ags game this weekend

Is Littles back in play?

So he doesn't use a year of eligibility.

Would be a tough get but I guess you could say that. For him and Wilson you'll need to win a lot of games and even then you still may not get those guys.

Doesn't the 5 year clock continue running once it starts, even if you take a year off?

I think you can request a waiver on that. Similar to injuries or the guy at OU who got a waiver on the year he took off after giving his friend brain damage in a drunken rage. His waiver would be submitted based on "my coach turned out to be the grand master of rape-enabling, so I left". I'm not saying it's going to be granted for sure, but I think that's what he is after.

That or maybe he doesn't want to risk injury playing for a pointless JUCO team? I mean, if I had his talent, I wouldn't.

You might be right. But I don't think it will come into play. He'll lose this year as a "redshirt" year, and then have 3 years to play at the school he transfers to. That would make 4 years of on-field participation, which is the max for any individual.

If he were to get hurt in one of those 3 years, he could then possibly apply for a 2nd redshirt year, at which point he would have to petition the NCAA to get back the wasted 2016 year.

Yes.

If he played Juco, he would transfer and play 2 years at a big school.

If he sits, he can transfer and play 3 years at a big school.

You get a 5 year running clock to play 4 years. Split it however you'd like. His transfer is unique because he doesn't need to burn that year proving his worth (Didn't get kicked off, wasn't buried in depth chart, didn't have grade issues.)

Ahh yeah. That's it. Rough day of work is making me an idiot.

He played as a fish so he gets to take this as his redshirt so long as he doesn't play. I knew there was a legit reason he was at a JUCO just hanging out, I was just too dumb to remember he hadn't taken his shirt year yet.
