How many head coaches across the nation have a worse off-the-field rep than Sumlin at this point?

Petrino is a good one. Fortunate for him that he doesn't care about recruiting, so his terrible rep doesn't really hurt him.

I'm not ready to accuse Woodward of doing what Hyman and Byrne were known for just yet.

Back to recruiting...

With Boyd now qualified, the RB position is fully stocked.

JR Ford
JR White
SO Merritt
FR Bussey
FR Trayveon
FR Boyd

Wish the staff would consider backing off Kibodi (unless he's just an animal everyone else is overlooking) and wait on one of the studs (Dobbins, Toneil, etc.)

Or just skip the RB position this cycle and use that extra scholarship for a front 7 defender.

New LB prospect

quote:

Salesian (Calif.) linebacker Rahyme Johnson is working on setting up an official visit to Texas A&M this fall. The 247Composite four-star prospect tells GigEm247 that he's looking at the weekends the Aggies host Ole Miss, Tennessee or LSU. The 6-4.5, 215-pounder already has official visits to Notre Dame and Nebraska locked in for the weekends of October 1st to Lincoln when the Huskers host Illinois and October 15th when The Irish host Stanford. With the recent loss of Devodrick Johnson, and Kenneth Murray likely Oklahoma bound tomorrow, this is not a surprising move for Kevin Sumlin and his staff. Johnson, a former UCLA commit, currently holds offers from the likes of Cal, Florida, Oregon, Nebraska, Vanderbilt and Notre Dame.

Not spewing sunshine, just hitting posters with a little dose of reality that some people on the board may not be ready to deal with....

Just don't want to be a t-sip mouthpiece like Taco. Everything he says comes directly for the Shaggy Texas message boards.

You literally said Sumlin going to Auburn would be like Saban at Bama.

Your posting and reality have nothing in common.

I'm not sure, but I've got to side with Chill on this. Sumlin has 10 win season potential with the right assistants in place and I'd rather see him do it here than at an SEC west rival.

That's what I believe he meant and he's right.

And Nano, dont take everything said about us on shaggy as gospel, believe it or not, our program isn't in shambles

Rahyme Johnson, 4-star linebacker from CA, was offered by A&M. He is trying to arrange an official visit to A&M, ND, UF, and NEB according to 247. Planning on visiting during either the UT, Ole Miss, or LSU games.

Rough times for defensive recruiting. Not sure if it's our regional recruiters, players not connecting with Chavis, or the overall uncertainty/stigma around Sumlin & the program, but we have to get it figured out quickly

Gigem 247 moderators going to start working part time for UH.

Meanwhile, Sip 247 moderators are writing "puff pieces" about the nation's 55th ranked recruiting class. Clean up the trash on their message boards so that negative posts about Charlie Strong's infidelity or job stability don't influence recruiting. They get recruiting targets bumps" in ratings and even allegedly help Sip staff extend scholarship offers and maintain contact with recruits during the "dead periods".

Poor Sumlin. All he has to work with is one of the highest staff salaries in the nation, the best home stadium in the nation, and an athletic facility built to his liking... all dead center in the middle of one of the best recruiting area in America.
