We're doing decent, unfortunately our class is only ranked #3 right now.

the coaches want 4 QBs. That's the roster management they've laid out (every coach has X number of roster spots to use). They want 4 so they can groom guys. Starting a freshman is far from ideal. Tech under Leach started a 5th year senior like 4 years in a row at one point. None were highly recruited. All were smart and accurate.
The Joeckel situation is different. They aren't willing to dick him over. They were honest with him in that he isn't going to start. He then made the call to transfer - it wasn't like we pushed him at all.
And I'll joke about it, but Noil will not be a QB for us under any circumstances. He may run a wildcat package now and then, but we'd have to scrap the whole offense which we're not going to do. McQueen starts before Speedy (or anyone else). But McQueen is also a lot better than people think.

Honestly for the last few months, ever since the AU visit, it has seemed clear to me that Mack's commitment to A&M was very contingent. It is contingent on us having a good year (8+ wins) and no one else having an amazing year.
Which seems pretty honest to me. If you are a five star, even if your state does early recruiting, why NOT go with the best option at the last minute?
As long as we do well this season we should be fine.

they are all teammates/former teammates and are good friends. Not really a big deal but fans are obviously tweeting at all of them.
It reminds me when Askew razzed Honeycutt on twitter. Lot of people mistook that for dissension when the two of them (and Ced O) are really tight. You say things to your close friends that you'd never say to a casual friend. Twitter is the debil!

CGSC gave the exact same treatment to a former player and I don't think he's posted since.
