Haha. Yeah I can't blame you. I made it through one inning on Friday before quitting. And as finest mentioned listening/deciphering dave south was never really an option.

So we have 30 games left. If we go .500 in conference here on out well be 17-13 then say with go 4-2 midweek. That puts us 45-16 overall. That's what a 24 game win streak to open gets you. Very very reasonable and it'll get us a national seed.

Agree it's very reasonable but not sure it's enough for a national seed. We'd go approximately 6-4 in weekend series and probably would be a real borderline case.

LSU finished 17-11-1 in conference last year and got one. But they also won the SEC Tournament which included an extra win over Vandy and UF (two other teams in contention for a national seed). I think they announce the national seeds Sunday so they may not have taken the SECT title game into account but clearly the win over Vandy may well have been the difference between the two as a national seed. Vandy had an 8 RPI and LSU 9 but LSU got the 8th national seed.

Correct me if I'm wrong but LSU only had 40 wins before the SEC tourney. We would have 45.

Yeah that seems right. They went 17-11 in conference and 23-3 out for 40-14. That's 54 games. We only play 56. Your total ends up at 61.

I didn't notice but looks like your math is wrong on our final win total. 17-13 is 12-12 from here. Plus the 4 midweeks means an additional 16 wins to the 24 we have. Or 40. Seems like you are probably adding in the 5 wins we already have in conference twice.

Hah that's right. So let's go just over 500 the rest of the way in conference and go 5-1 or better in midweeks.

For some reason (old age and last night's beer maybe) I'm a little cloudy on the objective. Basically at the end of the regular season 8 teams are named National Seeds and they get to host their super regionals. Correct?

In other words finishing "Number 8" is just as good as finishing "Number 1".

And it doesn't matter at all who else is a National Seed. 5 or 6 super regionals could conceivably be in Texas, for instance. They're not going to penalize anyone because their neighbors are highly ranked. ???

16 teams host regionals. It is mainly based on merit, but some other factors like location and regional site (i e no shitty small ballparks) also factor in.

The top 8 are ranked 1 through 8. Like you said, they host the super regionals if they advance. 1 thru 8 are matched up with 9-16 (not ranked in any order) based somewhat by region. So #1 A&M could face the best not national seed TCU because it's a regional match up, but that isn't always the case. More than likely there will not be enough good teams in a single region, but like I mentioned earlier there is some consideration for location.

If a national seed does not advance it almost always goes to the other regional host assuming they advance. If neither then it kind of goes by if they made a bid, who's bid / host site is better, and who is higher ranked (the 2 seed would likely get it over a 4 seed).

So I took a look at your numbers and I see no weaknesses. Haven't had the chance to watch any of your games, but is there any chance of Mizzou coming into College Station and winning even 1 game?

Seems y'all hit from 1 to 9. Your pitchers are solid across the line, including your bullpen.

It's a game, so I guess there's always a chance. But I could see that the bottom half of the SC lineup didn't scare anyone. Y'all hit from top to bottom.

I could see an advantage over the SC starters and bullpen. Not so with the Aggies. Really seems like a complete team.

The strength of our team has been the pitching and fielding so far. The offense, while better than the last couple of years, is still lacking. Though, they do seem to come up with timely hits. They also do a good job of making the most of what little they get. Give them a walk or an error and they'll find a way to get him in without a hit.

I've only seen about a dozen of our games. From my limited perspective, I think we have a chance to be a very good team. But we're not a "don't even begin to get your hopes up against us" team. Others here know alot more about the team than I do.
But if you want to talk about the Baltimore Orioles, I'm your man.

We have plent yof weakness.

We are weak defensively on the corners, especially 3rd. We are average as far as Friday & Saturday starters go. This is due to injuries, but shite happens and we roll with it. Our power has slowed down and if it doesn't come back then you can add that.

We are deep pitching, we have a great pen, we hit 1-9, and our base running decisions have been spot on almost all year (something that hasn't been true in years past)
