Let's sign him up. If things don't completely fall off the rails this fall I think this class is going to be just fine.

I think we will still sign a very, very good class if things work out on the field this fall. We are in and/or leading for quite a few highly rated names right now.

Should be top 5 with the number of high rated in state prospects, let alone the usual GA 5* we reel in

Playing it kind of loose with the word "usual"
Although, I will concede that you guys are in great standing with Gibbs and Lawrence.

Kirby dreams of recruiting as well as Lyle and Azzanni

Uh... He beat him last year
And I don't expect him to lock down the state but it looks like he is trying a hell of a lot harder than Richt and company.

He'll do better than Richt initially, but Richt recruited exceptionally well

VQ article about the camp in Jackson with 5* OT Trey Smith in attendance along with a host of Volunteers
I did not know his coach has VOLS ties.
quote:
JACKSON -- Among the couple hundred prospects camping at the Tennessee's lineman camp at the University School of Jacksonon Wednesday night was the hometown kid,Trey Smith. Wearing a #73, Tennessee orange jersey, the Jackson native stood tall and proud to have the T in his neck of the woods.
"Seeing the Vols here is really cool," Smith said. "Having coach (Butch) Jones and everyone here was excellent. USJ can be the liaison in this relationship to West Tennessee. It was the first time I've been coached by them since I was 14 and that was cool, just to see what they are all about." Smith not only was able see what it's like to get coached by the Tennessee staff, but he soaked up every minute he had with the orange-clad staff. It's something that Smith has taken notice of over the last few months.
"I think they are doing a really good job of letting me get to know the players a lot more," Smith said. "Like Jashon Robertson, Jack Jones, Josh Dobbs, and Brett Kendrick. That's what I'm focused on, are the dudes I'm going to be around for the next three to four years. It's more than just how to block that 5-technique. It's about how you act in public and what the team is all about."
Never one to shy away from competition, Smith jumped right in, working with Vol commit Cade Mays and not only trying to improve but also be a mentor to the younger campers.
"There were some pretty good guys out there," Smith said. "Greg Emerson and LaTrell Bumphus. Bumphus didn't compete today, but he's a great player. Having Cade Mays out there that is my caliber player that I can talk to was huge. Plus getting to do this at my school with my buddies was really cool." Clemson, Alabama, Ole Miss and several others join the Vols in their pursuit of the talented lineman. He plans on graduating early and enrolling in January. He knows the decision process is about to get amped up.
"Right now I'm about to narrow it down to my top five or top eight," Smith said. "I'll probably do that around the time for the Opening. The decision is coming fast because I'm an early enrollee. Right now I've got to narrow it down and get closer to a decision."
USJ has a new head coach in state championship head coach Rusty Bradley. His father, Mark, a former Tennessee assistant from the 1990's get the chance to mold Smith every day in the trenches and the young lineman has seen growth this Spring.
I did not know his coach has VOLS ties.

Richt's crew finished with good classes but we need to get top 5 classes to get us over the top. Kirby looks like he's going to do just that but we'll see.

4-star running back Ty Chandler is in town with his parents.
4-star defensive back Malik Gray is in town with his mom.
WR Tee Higgins is back on campus hanging out this evening after being on campus earlier today.
That's a solid Saturday night of potential hanging out with the Vols.

Huge swing and a miss. This is the worst start we've gotten off to in recruiting since the Dooley era.
