Glad another Vol was able to answer that for you. I couldn't remember much from his recruitment on the potential position change.

With Emory Jones committing to Ohio St it looks like the staff is targeting dual threat QB Justin Fields out of Kennesaw,GA as their #1 target moving forward. He's an 86 3* on 247, but several mods on VQ seem to love him in tbis offense. Also think he could have a big senior and see his stock really go up.

4 passing TD & 1 rushing TD in last night's game.

Highlights from first game of the season

The kid is good. He holds around 30 offers so far but there's a big drop off from Lawrence and Jones.

I'm interested to see what he does his senior year. He reminds me a lot of Dobbs coming out of HS. He's got a bigger arm than Dobbs did and his mobility is just as good if not better. Either way, he will be riding a big part of his career behind Jarrett Guarantano who seems to be the future for us.

Guarantano is getting praised by some for being the best freshman QB to step foot on Tennessee's campus since the 90's. That should leave some red shirts and room to develop the guys behind him.

I gotta be honest, I'm embarrassed by our recruiting so far this year. Based on the instate talent alone, we were supposed to be competing for a top 3 class, instead, we'll be lucky to break the top 20.

Clemson has taken a giant shite in our backyard, Georgia is likely gonna pull the best QB prospect that Tennessee HS football has ever produced (and he's a lifelong Tennessee fan, btw) and we're about to be passed by South Carolina FOR frick'S SAKE.

I'm so fricking disappointed in this entire coaching staff, I swear if I had a fricking brick right now........

Step off the ledge bruh. It's still a long time until February. We've still got multiple big fish on the line that I suspect having a big 2016 season is really going to help us with.

I'll be shocked if we don't finish between 10-15 in the end of year rankings once we've cut some of the slaw and added some of our top targets. The situation with Clemson pisses me off, but we should be dominant with in state recruiting again starting with the 2018 class (5* commitment Cade Mays' class) and future classes.

I understand the frustration, but we'll be ight

I'm 100% sure we locked down Smith. Definitely gained some ground with Wade. And could we have gotten Gibbs back on the #WGWTFA Train

2018 5* OT VOLS commit Cade Mays and 5* OT VOLS lean Trey Smith at the game Saturday.

Smith said today he will be announcing December 6th. He will be back up to Tennessee for an unofficial to watch the VOLS play Alabama and then he will take his official visit to Tennessee sometime in November.

In a recent rivals article, Tennessee was mentioned as the front runner for Wade after the Florida game.

I think we're out of it for Gibbs

quote:

’ve been to some other big games, but this is probably one of the biggest games I’ve probably been to,” Gibbs said. “I was at the Georgia game last year. … But this was kind of a little bit more because they hadn’t beaten Florida, I guess, here in 11 years. I can see why everybody was excited for this win.”
“He said Tennessee is the place to be, and he loves it,” Gibbs said of Warrior. “Every day they’re working hard. They’ve been preparing him to get better. He’s got to recognize some of the plays better, get to know their system a little bit better. He loves it. He’s telling me, ‘Come up here.’ But, like I say in every interview, if it’s not for me, it’s not for me.
“He understands that. He wants me to just keep coming up here, keep showing me around and showing me a good time.”
Another of Gibbs’ cousins, cornerback J.R. Reed, transferred from Tulsa to Georgia this summer.
“Georgia having J.R., it helps them a lot,” Gibbs said. “He can’t play this year, but in practice he’s a great player, and everybody’s saying he’ll be on the field when he has the ability and time to.
“As far as me and him, we’re very close. We talk almost every day. He’s like my brother. He came from Texas, and we used to work out all the time. We grew up together, (about) the same age. He’s just like my brother. He’s enjoying the environment, as well.
