He was dating a young woman and bringing her around team functions is the one I've heard. He is married. Don't know how true that is.

Swapping out D coordinators when you're an offensive HC in a make or break year takes some balls if your Butch. I hope we don't have another Sunseri fiasco on our hands. Better get someone who employs the same defensive scheme.

TIFWIW but the source literally sees the Janceks on a regular basis and has no reason to make this up.

That's a sad situation all the way around if true, especially for their kids. I like Jancek but you can't be bringing young women around no matter how bad it's gotten at home.

Shoop's defenses have finished in the top 25 in total defense for 5 consecutive years. In 2015, the Nittany Lions gave up 324.5 yards a game which was good for 14th nationally. Shoop has plenty of ties to the state of Tennessee where he recruiting and found success in Nashville helping lead the Commodores through one of their most successful eras ever. Shoop has been rumored for the job since rumblings of Jancek's departure surfaced the week of the bowl game.

He had to be doing something in the 4th other than coaching. Jancek was like "oh look 4th down brb in a sec...oh shite did something happen while I was getting a bl...er...gone?"
That said, the more I think about that rumor the less I think it's true. His son is on the team and even if the Janceks were strained or all but separated, I couldn't imagine him bringing a woman in with his son there. That would be a terrible thing to do to your kid.
I suppose it's possible that Butch knew of a relationship and Jancek was pretending it was just a workplace friend/acquaintance thing and Butch just couldn't stand where he saw it going and the rumors and issues it was generating internally. In a case like that it would be awkward as hell if you're watching a friend and colleague frick around knowing he's thinking he's got everyone fooled but instead everyone knows and your having to look his son and his wife in the eye everyday -- a family you've known for ages and a kid that you watched grow up.
OTOH, it makes sense that something more went down for Jancek to be flat out fired. Jones almost always pushes his guys to take other jobs rather than outright fire them and Jancek is the only one I know of that Jones has outright fired at UT.
At any rate, I'm hoping for Shoop. I'll be ok with Orlando or Chizik too (he can coach some D). Hell, knowing Jones he'll find an Olympic Swim Team Pool Maintenance guy or maybe just one of the guys who works at UT's Bubble and after an offseason filled with fan freakouts it will work out great.
