Everyone in the sports world is saying that the VOLS will have a let down...

What gives?

I understand that it is a vivid possibility that we could come out a little flat, but isn't it just as possible (and more likely) that we come out playing like a team that just did something 11 straight VOLS teams couldn't do, behind a 4th year QB who just beat a team that PFM couldn't beat?

Honestly, I want the sports world to be saying this, and I want the players to be hearing this. I want them to play with a chip on their shoulder.

That's a fair point, especially considering how they have played for a fair portion of this season.

These assholes will continue to pick against UT. Fact is, people don't want VOLS to be good.

Tennessee should win this game, but I would certainly not be shocked with a loss. This team will be scary when they put 4 quarters together.

This.

But guess what -- That's to fricking bad.

We are the better team. We should win on Saturday. I don't care if it's by 1 point or by 30 -- Just get the W.

This. The entire sports world wants us to lose. It was great for them to talk about Tennessee returning to prominence when it was all just a theory but now that it's threatening to become reality, they are terrified that it might actually happen. It's already pissed them off that we've made it this far.

They're waiting for a meltdown that isn't going to happen. We win this game and then we deal with TAMU and BAMA. Those two games will be serious challenges but even if we lose both we'll have had a successful season that likely results in a 10-2 record. Exactly like we predicted.

Honestly, do you want UGA, Bama, or UF to be good?

Yes. I just want the Vols to be better. The best seasons have always been the ones where we beat good teams.

You and I are the few. Judging by reading the boards here most people want everyone to fail.

I don't. The difference is since UT has been terrible the past 10 years, we have heard that VOLS are a dead program, offseason champs, can't win games in September, etc. So now that it seems that's happening again it's because Florida wasn't that good, VOLS got lucky, etc. There is never credit saying, "yeah, you guys beat the shite out of them in the 2nd half".

I mean, that's fine, but it is just different. Anytime Tennessee has expectations they're "unrealistic" or something. I wish I had bookmarked all the posts that alluded to the giddy anticipation to UT's annual implosion. My point is that people are having a hard time coming to grips with Tennessee being decent again. UF, UGA, Bama, etc. have not had a terrible stretch like we had in awhile.

Edit: And to be clear I am fine with the shite talk, I am referencing those that genuinely believe what they are posting. Also, I think UT has a good chance of losing the next 2 of 3. Obvi I hope that doesn't happen.

I want UGA to be good, just not when they play us.

I'm perfectly content splitting the next 10 East division crowns with UGA as long as Florida and Mizzou don't win.

I fricking hate Georgia. I grew up surrounded by their fans around the time VOLS starting slowly rotting and Richt was turning the Bulldogs around. They are right there with Alabama and Florida for me.

I grew up in Florida, so I'll never hate anyone as much as them.

But I do hope Cobb_Dawg and Drew(meat gazer)dawg13 get thrown into a pit of cobras.

Yeah, I don't understand that fan reaction, especially the fans that seem more obsessed with a rival failing than their own team winning.

We were so bad there for a bit that the only enjoyment I could get from college football was schadenfreude.

I know you enjoyed that come back last year. All my UGA friends were pouting and in shock after that game. It was beautiful. I was at the game and got barked at on the way in by some lames tailgating close to the stadium. Those mf weren't barking when I saw them after though

There are 10 schools that have bulldogs as their mascot. Only one of them has a retarded enough fan base to bark at opposing fans.

No doubt about that brah I don't have to deal with them near as much now that I'm back in Chattanooga but holy shite at the amount of bandwagon Bama fricks around here. Very similar fanbases but at least the Bama fans have something to pound their chest about, even if they didn't become fans until 2008 lol
