We were so bad there for a bit that the only enjoyment I could get from college football was schadenfreude.

It's much easier not to wish pain upon others when our team isn't a steaming pile of shite

I still hope Florida loses every single game though

I don't think it will happen, I think the boys come to play. They have had people dogging them after they first three games and their performance after all the preseason love. I am hoping the 2nd half of the UF game gave this team the road map they need to play a complete game.

As a Whitey Herzog Cardinal fan the have been the Cardiac Vols so far.

I'm perfectly content splitting the next 10 East division crowns with UGA as long as Florida and Mizzou don't win.

I'd be cool with this

I'm starting to feel pretty confident. Georgia is the biggest game of the year to a lot of the roster and the coaching staff knows it is the most important regular season game every year for recruiting.

The Dline is going to come out pissed. Barnett and O'Brien are thugs on the field anyway. Not two guys you want coming after you every play. I hope Shoop starts Tuttle for this game.

Truth be told is we haven't shown we can consistently win yet. I think a win over UGA will begin to shut the doubters up. I think the players know that this game is a must-win if we want to control our destiny in the East. If we beat A&M expect the hype train to be in full steam for Bama.

From all accounts of the Knoxville media (sunshine pumpers I know) the players have had extremely focused practices this week.

What gives?

1) I haven't really seen much of that, most people are predicting UT to win without much of a sweat considering how bad we've looked.

2) It's straight out of the textbook, so it's an easy talking point if people don't have anythign else to talk about. SEC Team A wins massive home game and are sky high. Said team now goes on the road to play SEC Team B who is coming off a loss and looking to refocus. Therefore Team A better be on upset alert! It's not a UT thing, it's a mantra that you see just about every week every season, I wouldn't be too concerned about it.

Absolutely. I personally don't understand how some think we dominate UGA. I think they are better than what they've shown.

That's what I like to hear. I think that will be the MO for Butch's teams from here on out. If we lose I think it'll be from being out-played, not underprepared/unfocused.

After watching the first four games and really noticing the improvement of both D line and O line (more so D line) in the 4th quarters of every game and hearing Botch briefly mention it, I don't think we are giving enough credit to conditioning and depth for these second half Renaissance's we keep having

The d line especially just slowly starts to eat the opposing O alive

Saw a stat yesterday during the Houston game. -24 point difference in 1st Q. Worst in the Nation. +35 in the 4th, #1 in the nation.

I think they're on par with us talent wise but in terms of team-wide cohesion and overall preparedness I think we will outperform them. There seems to be a lot of disagreement/distaste between the Richt and Kirby guys. I think we should win handly.

I'd like to see last year's starts coupled with this year's finishes.

Gotta be consistent.

So far, this team has been anything but.
