do we include negative recruiting in the 'dirty' category? Because Clemson is notorious for that. Also auburn as well, and many others.
Yea, and Alabama is in the fold with that as well.

Everyone cheats, everyone negatively recruits.

Bama most definitely is the worst in giving benefits, and one of the dirtiest in recruiting negatively. Kalvarez Bessent recently spoke of how negative Bama recruits and Auburn just promotes what is good about Auburn. So yeah I'm gonna say Bama is the worst of all.

So a kid who is butthurt because he probably was told to move on is a good authority on who is the worst at negative recruiting? Meanwhile his tweet to Williams that he wouldn't like Bama if he knew "what it is really like" there. As if Bessent would know anything about what Bama is like when he didn't visit once during the season. Who do you think told him what it is really like at Bama? If you guessed tGus Bus you win the prize.

Meanwhile we have an enrollee, DJ Pettway, who knows exactly "what it's really like" at Bama and wanted to come back. Figure that one out.

I'm glad Clemson is pretty much collectively thought of as one of the dirtiest programs.

I didn't know if too many people believed that, but it is very very bad their.

When shite like this from their own players is all over the internet, it can't be easily overlooked.

Clemson pays player video

I would normally say Auburn. To me it If you'll wait til February you'll be important again . doesn't have that dirty feel now that Gus has taken over. Anytime I hear a commit or recruit that has never mentioned ole miss deciding to suddenly visit there scares the shite out of me . Everyone cheats in one way or another . It's mainly an excuse for rival fan bases ....especially declining ones .

Cosigned.

Said it before and I'll say it again -- when the next Cam Newton comes along, I'm in for $100.

Yep. Just depends on the prospect and the situation. It's almost never a cash transaction, there are plenty of other ways to get on a family's good side. Judging by the stories I've heard (most of which are half truths or whole lies), Ole Miss is the worst at keeping it quiet because a lot of their boosters are itching to get back. LSU has had to dial it back a touch since DJ McCarthy and Willie Lyles, and it's really hurt us IMO. The fence is really just a collection of last names in LA, and they all want to feel like they're the most important name on the list.

That is what I am saying, feral!
IF UGA is cheating, they are doing a horrible job. LOL. Just look at their signing days over the past decade...

Not really. If your school stopped cheating it would be an MSU type program. So you better hope the cheating doesn't ever stop.

Ole Miss fans here had been telling UGA and Bama fans for like 2 months "I think we have a shot". It wasn't a last minute thing. You just dismissed us.

Like I said in the other thread I think a certain amount is normal. The hundred dollar handshake (adjusted for inflation probably the 500 dollar handshake) is common and the bidding war happens for the big time players.

This has happened a long time, still happens, and is part of every program. The ones that recruit better out work the others both over and under the table.

I think when teams get in trouble like say Bama under Dubose (after all the first round wasn't recruiting but Langham) it is always an extraordinary case. Like the NCAA has their own view of what is allowed and if you cross it much less kick the boundary down you get brought down on. But unless it is a flagrant case (like Penn state level but that isn't recruiting) they aren't going to punish a team like 2002 Alabama. They aren't going to kill the money makers. Not for hundred dollar handshakes.

story for all you fanatics: high profile recruit gets some versed right before surgery. We're talking to him about his recruitment. He said every SEC program but one offered him some sort of "extra benefit."

I don't doubt this to be true, but are telling us you guys were talking to him after he got versed right before they wheeled him into surgery?

In the past Bama and A&M. They are pretty much all equally as dirty now.
