Evans made the right choice, regardless of legacy status. He's perfect for the 3-4. It sucks since he's a local kid, but his decision wasn't under normal circumstances.

He had no natural spot on AU's D, and that's not a good situation being a legitimate early round talent. Selling him the Star position didn't help either.

Kudos. Tactical mistake by our staff. But we didn't really have many cards to bluff with on his skill set.

In hindsight, should've sold him on dee fords role... they're similar coming out is high school, granted Evans is way more polished than dee was as a HS senior.

Evans is the kind of talent that'll excel in any system... Though bama is a more sure bet, no one knows the future. I don't fault the decision, just the execution.

Exactly. It was easy to lose respect for the kid the way he handled the situation. I question his fortitude going forward, but hold no ill will for his decision. And yes, if Dee Ford would have been drafted prior, the sell could have been easier.
