what OL is contributing anytime soon?... the elite of the elite maybe, but that's not carr (or 95% of linemen).
if anyone is counting on a guy like carr to give them meaningful snaps next year, they've got some serious depth issues... that doesnt' appear to be either bama or auburn... he's a luxury commit... certainly nobody's must sign prospect.

JMO, but I see him as an Isaac Luatua type who just provides depth but never sees the field except in garbage time. Again that is JMO based on what I've seen from him so far.

Bama will probably have a TF and a possibly soph starting this year.

don't want. maybe he'll flip

I am happy with the pick-up. AU doesn't need him for two seasons, so that's plenty of time to shape him into a very solid guard.

Maybe we can dig up J.B. Grimes university e-mail and you can provide to him your sage advice.

Gadsdon has been a Bama town for a while right?

Short arms and poor pass blocking technique? sounds like a running teams guard to me.
Kozan will be gone in two years so this sounds good to me.

Carr's dad graduated from Auburn.

If we're picking up 4 star OL for depth at this point, I'd say we're in a good spot.

Carr is a project, no doubt about it. He has the size and a high ceiling to be really good. He just needs work on pass blocking and agility. Most likely will be a guard.
Probably already posted, but Keith Niebuhr's analysis:
Keith's video review: AuburnUndercover recruiting analyst Keith Niebuhr reviews Carr's video highlights.
The first thing that stands out is this: Carr is a big dude. Right now, he already has an SEC body that carries little bad weight and won’t need much reshaping when he arrives at Auburn.
Carr is a powerful run blocker that extends his arms well, and uses a strong power base to drive into an opponent. He can pull effectively, and he can get to the second level.
Carr is quick out of his set and off the ball, and often engages on run blocks before the defender can react. When that happens, he has won the play. Once Carr locks into a defender, it’s hard for that player to get back into the play.
Carr’s pass blocking must improve. He has trouble at times against the inside move, and his lateral movement is not a strength.
Auburn has told Carr he will start out at tackle, but we believe he ultimately will land at guard. At that position, the Tigers can best utilize his run blocking prowess, and he doesn’t have to work on an island.
Carr is not a finished product. His footwork and overall body quickness are not where they need to be for the SEC. Also, at times he isn’t as assertive and forceful as a pass blocker as you’d like to see.
That said … what an upside.
Great frame. Great build. Hustles on every play. That hustle certainly can be seen on film.
There is a lot with which to work — and this is an excellent get for the Tigers.
Final thoughts: Carr’s ceiling is pretty high, and he is not anywhere near it. All the physical attributes are there. So is the attitude. And the desire. And the work ethic. Coachable kids with excellent clay often are molded into very good college players.

Redshirt 2015, backup for Kozan 2016, start 2017.

Most likely. Kozan would be a great one for him to learn behind. Great work ethic (like Carr).

Carr didn't have UA over AU at any point, but AU wasn't always his leader.

It seemed to be a bigger deal throughout the process for him.
