He committed to LSU almost a year before NSD and wasn't recruited any more by State. Can't say for certain for Ole Miss.
Even if you want to count him, that is two players in the past decade + that you got from the State of Mississippi in Basketball and Football.

So we're just gonna ignore the fact that Mississippi rarely produces significant talent regardless, right? For the sake of your argument? I mean, the way people are talking about how Ole Miss and MSU have the state locked down (#WeRunThisState)... I dunno, I guess it makes it seem like MSU gets upper tier recruiting classes.

We usually don't take that many kids from MS actually. We pick a few and then go get better players from OOS. I'm fine with that...

You guys have get liggins, voohries, and that te (named Dickson?)with two of those being from the deep coast. Bama has got a few players as well but less in the last five years, but they did get Matt Wommack last year.
More than other states MS players stay home though
MS also produces more NFL players per capita than just about any other state, just not a large population

Actually a year and a half, but he was offered by MSU and Ole Miss very early on as well. Just saying you're lying if you say you didn't want him, was named Gatorade player of the year in MS.

Mississippi is not an area we need to recruit, we just occasionally will, and obviously occasionally land talent from. To say there's no way we ever get anyone is dumb. And those two certainly aren't the end of it "for the past decade" as even someone else pointed out above - the Dickson brothers.

I only count 1?
Regardless... Coast is LSU territory as far as I'm concerned.

Ole Miss didn't pursue Voorhies hard at all. We tried to land Hootie, Jamal, and Trey Marshall.

Because Voorhies committed to LSU 1.5 years before NSD, he was solid.

4-star and #1 athlete on the services, offered by by both OM and MSU...just happened to commit to LSU extremely early in the process. MSU and OM both offered when he was a junior (and won Gatorade MS POY).

Partially that but mostly because we had others we ranked ahead of him and we had the better safety committed already.

Point is he was recruited by both MS schools or else why offer him so early. He wasn't recruited hard by either school because he committed to LSU long before NSD and never took any other visits.

We offer tons of kids early. I acknowledged that his early commit played a part but you won't accept the truth that he wasn't a priority.

And for some reason you think it's not possible he wasn't recruited hard BECAUSE HE COMMITTED EARLY. That's likely the reason he wasn't recruited hard by OM or MSU, because he wasn't giving you guys any attention and shut it down early.
You dont offer guys 2 years before NSD if they aren't someone very high up on your list.

I dont understand what's tough to understand here, Voorhies was offered by OM/MSU before his junior season - yet he "wasn't a priority"...see how that doesn't exactly add up? Sure, he wasn't "a priority" AFTER he committed to LSU 1.5 years before NSD and never visited you again, but that should be obvious enough.
