Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember hearing that his father was a really highly recruited player to Alabama but was kicked out after like a semester. So being a legacy might be a negative in this instance

His word? You realize he doesn't owe anybody but himself anything right?
I told the Auburn Board that he had silently committed to Auburn Iron Bowl weekend shortly following the game, and that was later revealed by Auburn beat writers shortly after he committed and signed with Alabama. Again, I told everyone that way before they did. I was in the know with his recruitment. I am no insider, I just had insider access with a couple of recruits.

I've never claimed to be an insider. I've just brought info on a couple of recruits.

He told Reuben Foster he was coming to Bama on his Bama OV. He reiterated it to RF during Saturday Night Fever the weekend before NSD. Thus why Reuben's uncle came on to BOL to tell us he felt good about RE to Bama when almost nobody else was giving us a chance. But this thread is about Preston Williams. I think he will visit, but I don't think we will ever be a serious contender for his signature. Kind of like Raekwon McMillan from last year.

b/c they literally have no one else... butch has been showing all the recruits practice film of Ferguson... that's how they were able to solidify Malone. Dobbs and Peterson are terrible... and Whorley isn't a whole better and is a senior.
Why UT didn't sign at least 1 QB amongst the 40+ they took commits from this past class is beyond me.

We have three 4* QBs on our roster at the moment. 2 SO and a RS FR. We're fine

if Ferguson doesn't work out, no you're not fine... It's pretty clear the two Sophomores are mediocre QBs... maybe they'll develop over the next year or two into SEC calibre players, but it's a big unknown.
I don't think it's too much of a stretch to think Butch Jones' career at UT is in the hands of Riley Fergeson.
