Those recruits include Laquan Treadwell who has not made his test score and rumors are swirling that he is not close to being able to attend ole miss

It's not perfectly balanced I give you that but this whole "top heavy" shite is getting old. Everyone would be "top heavy" if they only looked at 5 stars.

This.

12 of our commits were 4-star or higher on Rivals.com. That's more than Auburn got, but nobody's calling their class "top heavy" or any such bullshite. Y'all act like this class is Nkemdiche, Treadwell, Tunsil, then a bunch of nobodies that nobody else wanted.

Ole Miss seems to give LSU all they want almost every year.

With the potential of Auburn, Ole Miss, and even Arkansas, the SEC West 2nd. tier programs could be a real mine field in the near future.

to be fair, no one's calling our class anything. it doesn't have the hype or marquee names that OM's class has.

It was ranked #8 in the country on Rivals (ours was ranked #7) and it had Montravious Adams, Carl Lawson, and Elijah Daniel. It was a really good class. In fact, it compares to ours in a lot of ways, yet nobody's all like "OMG WTF AUBURN!!?!?!" (even though y'all were last in the West this past year)

Because we aren't trying to say our class was awesome. In fact, it was kinda disappointing compared to what it looked like it would be in August. Our class is considered impressive by most because we were last and got a completely new coaching staff.

No one is saying Ole Miss' class isn't good. Being "top heavy" means you got some really, really good players. But it also means after those really good players, there isn't much quality depth, which almost everyone here agrees with

It is not a big deal or surprise that Auburn got a top 10, top 15 class. Auburn has had highly ranked classes for the last few years while ole miss came out of the blue to get their class. It is bigger news.

Who started this thread again? An Ole Miss fan? And I had NO idea that Ole Miss controlled recruiting rankings and ESPN's coverage of National Signing Day.

Looks like you learn something new every day on the SEC Rant, huh!?

(NOTE: I'm being a smartass. We aren't "trying to say" anything. Other people are saying it for us.)

That's the opinion of people who are just glancing at the surface. Even the bottom-of-the-class guys we got this year are better than those of years past. Yeah, they may be three-star guys, but they're good three-star guys.

Came out of the blue? I mean, shite, at least we won some SEC football games this year.

I'm sorry. Was that supposed to be a joke? A Tennessee fan making fun of Mississippi education? I taught/coached in Tennessee for two years, buddy. You don't have anything to be proud of.

Point being chief, that MS ranks at or near the bottom in scoring in most meaningful education catagories. You know, basic stuff like reading, math, science, etc. Was not intended as a shot at MS, just a realistic statement on the overall quality of public ed. there (which is one of the south's great epidemics). In hindsight it probably came across that way. But the jist of what I was attempting to say was this - how dumb is Connor to even be in danger of not graduating on time with his class???

Edit - I also know a guy who literally could not write his own friggin name that was able to "graduate" from high school (yes, in TN). He was passed through the system because he was a superior athelete, much the same as Connor. He was later diagnosed as being severely dislexic, and now has a masters degree.

Agreed. But I believe you would also agree that even in the south MS ranks low.

So what you're saying is that Conner could be like your dumbass friend who has a Master's?

Cool story.
