As I posted before signing day several of their high profile recruits have significant academic problems and will not be at Ole miss this year. Those recruits include Laquan Treadwell who has not made his test score and rumors are swirling that he is not close to being able to attend ole miss and Tony Connor who as of today will not graduate with his senior class due to GPA and failure to pass state wide mandated test. So while the 7-6 improvement Ole Miss made on the field and the top recruiting class they signed in Feb. was great for the program but as with all Ole miss sports their bubble always burst. Five stars not qualifying, 2-5 start to the season? This could be short lived success.

It's Ole Miss and I really don't care, but do we really need more unsubstantiated rumors about 18 year old kids?

It's big when its not just those two and your team has major depth issues.

The class was top heavy and those are two of the top 4 I believe.

UA could have fixed that for him.

Treadwell has made his score and tweeted he did. Connor, as already reported by OM recruiting analyst, says Connor has to take one summer class and will report in July.

And good lord if OM actually beats LSU this year. A thread a day is getting tiresome

It's two 5* guys though. That would be a pretty big deal

Tony should call Eddie up and see how things are going up in Cheesehead land.

Well to be fair, their recruiting class was VERY top heavy. If they lose 2 of their top 5 guys, their class takes a huge hit.

They didn't stack 4 stars after their 5's like Bama, LSU, and UF

ETA:

Not saying this is true, just speaking hypothetically.

It's not perfectly balanced I give you that but this whole "top heavy" shite is getting old. Everyone would be "top heavy" if they only looked at 5 stars.

If you assume 4 & 5 stars are high level recruits then OM landed 2 QB, 2 RBs, 2 WR, 2OL, 1 TE, 2 DL, and 3 DBs that are considered high level commitments. We were a couple LBs away from having a damn balanced elite class.

I've never seen a report that Treadwell is in any danger of failing to qualify. I'm fairly sure he has qualified. I'm not sure about Tony Conner, but I believe the guy who said he has to take a class during the summer. I haven't heard about anyone else being in jeopardy.

Who are the rest of the "several...high profile recruits" who won't enroll at Ole Miss?

Two five stars in an extremely top heavy class. Pretty big deal for OM.

I disagree. Outside of the four 5*s signed, Golson and Kailo Moore are the only two other guys that I wish AU could have landed.

ETA: HS guys, not including Hooks and Brassell

The only reason their class was so high was because of those Top 4-5 kids. It's not like they had a deep class of 4-star players.

If this is a rumor and may be bullshite then why post this as fact saying several high profile guys might not make it.

We all know the rumors so why bring them back up besides to flame ole miss?
